Yes, I am thinking of upgrading but really can't decide. On one hand it is fast but on the other hand the price is just utterly ridiculous. The money could be used for better things. I am currently using 5700xt so hands getting itchy...lol

So, I am hoping to get some advise if it is really indeed worth getting. Does it give you any WOW factor??

Get the best of the best and just forget about what if...
If not get 3080 then itchy here itchy there end up go sell and buy again.

Yea is sibei expensive, at least 2.3k? Enough to build a full system lol

But you get the very best no compromised, bragging rights and ego boost lol but all these feels will slowly disappear until regrets set in lol

Paying for a 3090 is when you got all the money and you got nothing else to upgrade. 3090 is definitely not the best frame per dollar ratio. It is somewhere 15-25% faster than the 3080. But the price is more than 80% higher.

Remember what 2080ti users get?

I believe thats the consensus among reviewers also. Its not value for money. Its a CHONKY BLING BLING

But since u already on team red, why not wait for the rx 6900xt to come out? Its sometime this month.

Will u buy a Titan RTX? If yes, go ahead, get the 3090. Else, drop to 6900XT or 3080.

5700XT is quite good I thought. Previous generation only. Compared to those using gtx 900 series and below. Don't say RTX 3090. Even RTX 3080 Ti / 3080 is expensive. RTX 3060 Ti looks ok.

If you got too much money, I can help you spend. My chassis / ssd / motherboard / ram need change

The more important question is what resolution / refresh rate are you playing at? If 4K uncompromised gaming is your requirement, 3090 is the best choice period. But definitely not the best choice if you look at price to performance ratio but it will serve you for a good 2 years or at least before the 4000 series come out. Judging at the 2080 Ti's lifecycle, I'd say you'd be good for 2 years easily.

i can relate, there was a time i chased after the best, upgrade after upgrade for the sake of it or feel good factor. burn money buying top tier hardware, and I would consider myself your typical average consumer who use it for web surfing/movies/office work and occasional gaming, don't even fully utilize the hardware potential.

As I got older, less time to game, work & family took priority, stopped chasing after the latest and greatest, money can be better spend elsewhere.

Buy 3080 and upgrade in 2 years. By the time 10GB VRAM is limiting, it will be time to upgrade anyway.

Only reason to get 3090 is if you need the 24GB VRAM for professional tasks like Machine Learning, Video editing, 3D modeling, etc.
