Is it worth getting Samsung S23?

Planning to get the S23 Ultra but the price is ridiculous at almost 2k. Remember back in the day when new Samsung/iPhone phone retailed at 1k + and we thought it was crazy expensive and now it's almost 2k. I am currently using a Huawei P30 Pro and S9 and it works well. Was thinking of upgrading to S22 since the price would have definitely dropped significantly. My question is the S23 worth getting over S22? How much of an upgrade it is really?

IMHO.
My view is that S23U have a better chipset but so far only applied to camera functions. I am hoping to see more apps that can use all the AI features e.g. VR/AR. Also, this year is Snapdragon, maybe next year is Exynos ?

Huawei P30 Pro and S9 are weak phones now.
S23 processor is like 30-40% faster than S22

Is the processor really so much faster than S22? If so, then it is worth getting since 30% is a lot. Almost like a super computer.

I don't think the price will drop that much even with S24, and even if it drops, I think the trade-in value should be still quite high. IIRC, the trade-in value for S22 still have at least $1000.

Was using a poco x3 pro for 2 years and got myself a s23 base. Honestly, not worth the money for my usage. I was happy with the poco except the big size.

Could have gotten a pixel 6a but skeptical of tensor

same ship. Currently still using P30 Pro as well, so far so good but just that the battery are draining quickly.

I am on similar ship as you guys. Been using Huawei Mate 20 coming to 5 years now. Performance is still fast and batt can last 1+ day. But think still better to upgrade phone, so am looking at S23. The size is just nice for me. Wonder if the performance and batt would deteriorate over time or not ?

I just swapped my Huawei p20 pro for S23. Wanted a similar form factor. Processing speed and smoothness of navigation alot of diff. Camera I'm still testing. I loved my Huawei cam, that's why kept for so long. So far photography on S23 hasn't wowed me but video is def worth the upgrade. Super stable and smooth zoom

But I had to change most accessories like charger, usbc adapter

Next-gen is coming with Exynos, so the s23 ultra is not replaceable atm.

It's a very good package. No other Android phone comes close yet regarding overall robustness, level of customizability, and features.

I read only s24 not ultra is exynos.. Ultra still snapdragon.. Anyway s23 is a good phone for those don't change often..

If your current phones still working, wait a bit more till S24 comes out estimated around 1st Qtr 2024.

if it's exynos for all S24 models, u can go for S23 series at much cheaper price.

If you can't wait.... u can go for Honor Magic 5 Pro (UI similar to HW and comes with Google) - estimated 3rd qtr 2023.

If you are able to live without Google and 5G, try out the display set of Huawei P60 Pro - now HW stores totally no crowd, u can try out at ease.

If you want 5G with exceptional camera features, try Sony 1 V or Sony 10 V at the Sony Stores, though not that cheap.. =(

If u still want Samsung, just go for S23 Ultra - now currently selling around $1188 - $1198 (256GB) or $1388 - $1398 at Red White Mobile and Lite Mobile.
