Is it worth it to upgrade mine cpu+motherboard to MSI z87-G45, i5-4670k/i7 4770k just for cpu overclocking and maybe sli as i do plan to get a 27 inch IPS display soon.

That is all up to you. Itch on upgrades then nobody can stop the temptation.

Must see what you really need. If really need then upgrade loh.
