Hi guys, can I check if i7 3770K on stock fan and no OC is suppose to hit 100 degree in 15mins when running Prime95? When I mount my H100 it hits over 100 degree in less than 1 min in Prime95 with no OC. I'm currently using arctic cooling MX-4 thermal paste and I put only a small dot on the cpu, usually when I take out the cpu it will cover 80% of the cpu in a nice round circle so I think I should be applying the thermal paste correctly. Tried mounting more than 20 times and temperature has been consistent so I think my mounting should not be wrong.
Is my CPU and H100 damaged?

You got mount properly? Make sure there is no gap between the cooler and CPU.
Ok when you said base did you mean the part contacting with the cpu? I put my finger on the base when it's attached to the cpu and i didn't feel any vibration. when i took it off the cpu (with the pc running i felt a smalll humming sensation from the base.....not very strong almost not noticeable the vibration....
I connected the 2 fans to my corsair 600T casing fan controller and the cable from the base to the cpu fan header and the molex. Fan controller was set to maximum speed
hmm i mounted the stock as what the instructions says...just push the 4 pins down until i hear a click sound. For the H100 i tightened the 4 screws using screwdriver until i can no longer turn when using moderate strength i think should be mounted properly with no gap.

I will be avoiding TS sales of this processor in the near future.
there's no point pushing/ abusing the processor just to see max temp or how fast it can go within the termal limits, you just reducing the processor lifespan.

Don't worry if indeed is faulty cpu or cooler I'll get it rma cos still under warranty. Also temp was on stock speed. No OC....I will be avoiding TS sales of this processor in the near future.

Yea initially I thought was just the cooler but even with stock fan it hit 100℃ after only 15min in prime. I think usually people run 24 hours with no issue. Correct me if I'm wrong....not an expert in this area...
Check your CPU voltage. Or reset your bios. Settings maybe wrong.
Thanks for the suggestion will try tonight when I get home. I seem to recall when I took out the cpu fan from the mb header it gave me a no cpu fan detracted error
Yesterday nite I flashed my bios to latest version and also load default settings but I'll monitor the voltage tonight. I suddenly just thought of a chilling thought....what if my motherboard is damage too...

Very unlikely the cpu failed the qc test. Maybe u can either post you a picture of your readings or type it out.
100 is a bit extreme. But when I first upgraded from e2140 to 3770k, needed some time to get used to the temp jump on load. Delidded my 3770k and using H50. Load temp is ard 60, before delid is 70 @ 4.0. Using the motherboard fan header to connect the pump, cpufan header for the fan, no issues.
If the heatsink/pump enclosure is humming then should be working fine. But if multiple mounts still not working as intended, then just RMA ba.

I've been think that impossible the H100 perform worse than the stock fan (1min vs 15min to reach 100℃) something must be wrong w my H100. Only thing is I would have thought stock speed w stock fan would at least be able to withstand a few hours of prime95....is there something wrong with my cpu chip as well?
Only way to find out is troubleshoot part by part. Tedious but no choice.
Given that both stock cooler and H100 provide dismal results, I would say mobo and cpu could be faulty. On the other hand, H100 performs worse than stock cooler, so that may be faulty as well. More than 1 faulty part? *Nightmare*
