Currently using the X51 from Alienware, Gtx 555. However whenever I start up awhile, my monitor will go black and will not have any signal, sound can be heard.. Happens all the times. Also when I tried to restart the computer, it'll not start up sometimes.. Any help?

my friend also have the x51 but with an gtx 670.

just after 2 years of light usage? he was serving NS, his GPU overheats and HDD failure because of bad sectors.

when he playing cs go for like 5 mins, either screen blackout due to overheating or hang due to hdd failure.

try taking out the GPU and clean the gold fingers with an eraser. but goodluck with that.

for my case of gpu failure after 3 years of usage

1. random crash of nvidia driver ingame/desktop
2. no output to monitor (black screen)

I've owned a x51 before as well.. giving me problems such as random restarts and the one you mentioned since the beginning. RMA parts numerous time but after awhile still the same problem.

Then i installed msi afterburner to manual set fan profile, limit fps when playing games. This helps as I dont get those problems as often as before.

Well, sometimes it happen then i just reseat the graphics card and reset cmos, worked for one or two week then it will repeat lol.

crap system.. lucky it was a gift otherwise heart pain liao:s13:

Should try to DIY a PC yourself.

Confirm cheaper and better than the bundle offered by Alienware / MSi / other gaming brands.
