lol but now quite hard to find same socket of mobo right. Think just use it till it RIP then get new mobo/cpu/ram and life goes on

If you need SATA ports, can always add a PCIe SATA card.

Why not get a cheap second hand pc for a few hundred? The pcie sata card becomes pointless once the mobo fails.

My home has 3 PC still running 3rd generation Intels. Two 3570K and one 3770.
Over time one suddenly cannot detect ram, the other also got intermittent ram detect problem. And one the graphic card cannot detect.
I revive them using contact cleaner, those fast dry and leaves no residue type, and spray at every contact points, like ram slot PCIE slots, pins on rams and graphic card. Insert them in and out to rub off any built up over time.
They are all working now without problems.

I have this E8400 connected to my son's drum for recording and playing online music for practice.

I still have:
- Intel i5 2500k rig Windows 7
Mainly for repair/testing
- Intel i5 3470 Windows 10
For my parents to use.
- Intel i5 4690k Windows 10 as day to day rig.
Specs in my signature except the third generation.

Point is despite the age of these Intel rig.
It is still usable, if mobo died can find second hand on Caurosell to replace.
