I notice that when I play fortnite my frame will go from 120 to 39 and will only go back up to 90 for like 1 sec . I tried lowering my setting and nothing change I don’t think that it is my hardware since I have a 2080 and it seem like fortnite is the only game giving problems since every other game well run smoothly my pc Is an alienware. Does anyone know what the problem and know how to fix it?

If all games run fine on your computer, than the problem would be due to the game
not optimise properly. Have you submit a bug report here > https://www.epicgames.com/help/en-U...ow-do-i-submit-a-bug-report-in-fortnite-a3334

It is good if TS could provide more data reference to the temperature reading before anyone can tell if the temperature cause the fps shuttering.

- Which model is the Alienware?
- Probably you can try BIOS update and install Windows from fresh (Not reset.)

Certain Dell/Alienware desktop have thermal throttling issue due to it's cooling system.

possible solution is go to your game library use "verify" function to check the game files if need repair it will do so.

can also try to uninstall and reinstall again.

At what resolution are you playing the game? I actually suspect your CPU may be throttling. Drop in FPS may not be due to GPU. It may be that the CPU runs at boost clockspeed, gets too hot, throttle badly, and will affect the gaming performance.

I’m playing at 1080p and the cpu usage will be unstable as it will go from 17% to 90% then back

your system performance looks alright, I think probably it is the game issue since your other games does not appear to have the same drop fps issue.
im not sure if it just game issues because I benchmark my pc using gta benchmark and got around 60 to 90 sometimes 145 for one second the setting is all ultra I saw that other people benchmark were 140 avg and 200 high so I don’t know if it hardware related issues

when you compare others benchmarks both system and hardware are similar in terms of CPU/GPU/RAM as in also Alienware system?

Yea for the most part
this is very interesting...perhaps if you can study their performance in term of the CPU/GPU/RAM clock speed it would help you know how to tune as well.

since their can run the fps higher than you i believe their temperature is also higher compare to yours?

do you have any YouTube link which video you are referring? I am curious to see how they do it too.

I can’t find the video with i7 8700 but this benchmark was similar to my but my was more stable at around 70 or 80
