I have a 500W cooler master PSU from about 3 years ago. Just upgraded my system:
i7-4771 + GA H87D3H
16gb ram
SSD
Using built in graphics.
I was playing BF3 and after about 20 mins, the system shut down and tripped my fusebox (had to switch power back on in the main board). When I immediately switched it on again, the same thing happened.
But after letting the system cool down for about 20 mins, I could switch the system on without tripping the fuse and have been using it all day without problems.
So is my PSU dying or is this fuse tripping a sign that it is providing insufficient power to the system?
I do intend to get a separate graphics card - maybe R270X... not sure yet. What do you guys recommend as the minimum power? 650w or 750w?
