seeing the hype and all

i thought of getting one so can play some video games with my wife during free time

but i never own a switch 1 before, and i rarely play games like mario,

my type of games are like clair obcur expedition 33, yakuza , ghost of tsushima , elden ring

so not too sure if i should get it now or just wait till further months for the hype to be over?

all the games you quoted seem to be Playstation based but also have ports into PC. Just get a Steamdeck.

Switch is for those co-op games and mostly nintendo focus more on visual and story over game mechanics. Unless you buying so that you can play with your wife instead of yourself.

If you are not interested in donkey Kong or Mario kart than Better off getting a steam deck since epic also can play on steam deck

Forget about Switch. Those types of games not available on it. Get a Steam Deck or other Windows portable gaming machine. Lots of co-op type games available too.

yeah i played all my games on PC, i had a pretty decent rig that was build last year

but my wife always see me play and say is there no video games we can play together, i told her no, all my games are single player rpg

maybe got some games like street fighter or need for speed can play together but mostly single player

so i was thinking of getting switch 2 seeing that there is alot of games that can be played as a family

new gen console normally no

the console itself normally outdated in a year

newly versioj will come out
special ed will come out

more exclusive games will come out

compare to ds vs switch last time

the first 2 years games also got release in ds

unless you just wan to say you got it
or want to collect first version

Steam deck or the other handhelds like asus, odin or gpd.

if you want to play simple games with your wife, if already got android box, can download retroarch and just play retro games with bluetooth controllers, just a bit leychey to setup properly.

Just get switch 2, there are many switch 2 games that can play as family. Steam deck is mainly for solo play and u already have a decent pc for that purpose, so no point getting steam deck.

Switch generally can't be beat for co-op games when it is build specifically from the games, to the console (detachable screen, 2 remotes for multiplayer on the go without any additional accessories) and their strong emphasis on content moderation.

If is for your wife then switch is practically the only choice.

Actually is there even hype or is the stock level very healthy? i cant tell whats happening on the ground, fb is feeding me posts on two extremes (but maybe diff country diff..) and since im not interested so never even go local shop to ssrr

If u got games u like then yea i guess its worth.. but if u concern about price, likely the price will only drop as time goes.. (me not fortune teller, cant tell for sure though)

Games sell the console and rarely the other way round.

Nothing to play who will buy?

if you have somehting you want to play, then it's worth it.

u buy pc, then use emulator then buy controllers... u can play switch or wii games in multiplayer.

is not about hyper.... is kumgong to buy newly launch product at full price $700+ (cheapest $620)

NS2 will eventually drop to $500~$600 as time goes by.

Already answered your own question.
Nintendo only good because if it's cheaper than alternative (used to be) despite weaker hardware and decent exclusives at reasonable price(used to be) .

Hype and high sales is due to nostalgia and scalpers .

Get PC/handheld go emulator.
