Is Norm to Work OT everyday?

My boss sarcastically said working overtime is normal in Singapore. I usually work at least 55 hours a week.

I received messages at late night on work questions , and assignment to do this and that tomorrow.

when on longer days leave which cross over weekends, I said I can only do when I am back at work next weekday. My boss said, “but you are not on leave on Saturday and Sunday right?”

Is my work normal? Is being a salaried slave normal in Singapore?

Its not normal at all. Most people knock off at around 5:30 to 6pm. Weekends no work.
