Is Razer Blade 15 base model reliable

Hi all, i am planning to get a laptop for my school work and possibly doing some simple machine learning. I am considering Razer Blade 15 base model i7, 16GB RTX2060 1080p. The price is around SGD3k but I am not sure if Razer Blade 15 can last for 3 years.

I do not have any friend who owns a Razer Blade. Possible to share your experience or story of Razer Blade 15 reliability?



Or should I just buy Macbook Pro 16 i7, 16GB 5300M and install Window via BootCamp?

If you intend to get the performance of the hardware and purely run on windows, get a windows based laptop. Not a macbook and run on windows bootcamp.

The thing about electronics is that it will eventually die. Heat is something that kills electronics. A laptop that last 2 years is already good. Anything more is just a bonus. Paying more also does not equate to last longer or future proofing.

Come back to your question. The priced paid for an i7 and rtx2060 at 3k is too much to ask for. The Zephyrus G14 will be a much better buy if you are looking into portability.

There are much better laptops than just razers option.

Check out some of Linus tech tip youtube videos. He bought for his team and most of their razer blade had to be rma after using for a few month

i will not write my opinions like laptop expert here. i buy Razer because i want.
it's my only laptop now after almost 6-7 years without laptop.

For comparison, I bought a Aftershock laptop (APEX 15X) with the following specs.
- 15inch screen, 240hz refresh
- 32gb ram
- 1 x 512gb SSD, 1x 1TB ssd
- RTX2060
- core i7 10875H (8 cores, 16 threads).
- 3 years warranty transport covered

all that for 3K.

If you are ok with ODM laptops, then it would make sense to get one. Afterall, you get MUCH BETTER VALUE compared to buying from established brands like Razer and the bunch.

If spares are on hand i believe the change will be within a day. Else, they will have to order the spares in from Clevo or Tongfang depending. But, if you push hard enough, maybe can even get a 121.

But when it comes to hardware failure on any parts of the mainboard. GG. The wait is forever.

I guess it depends on stock availability. I ordered mine, they gave a lead time of 3 weeks. I received it in a week.

Yet the nightmare didnt end there. Last week, the cooler fan ramped up for no reason under no load. Send in also they say should be mainboard issue. Was quoted 4 weeks wait.
