1) The B85 Mobo might not be available anymore.
2) you don't need a 850w PSU for your build.
3) can consider getting an aftermarket cpu cooler if budget permits.

a Singular RTS game proofs nothing...anyway i really hope it will come to pass

Another poof will be coming very very soon, on 11 March. Hitman. Anyway it has been explained in OCN why GCN is faster in DX12 compared to Maxwell/Kepler (too lazy to search for the thread).

OK sure. More titles on the way, just need to wait. TS should just wait a while for more DX12 games to come out, 970 has that 3.5GB limit.

Its already known that Kepler/Maxwell DOES NOT support async shader. This is a hardware limitation, no drivers can solve it. Pascal may not have it as well.

true but can "upgrade/reuse" for future build

i'm running 850w with a single 980 lol...itz the price point where i pay $30 more i get 200w more
:s13: :s13:

So what's the logic behind this?

You do it because you can. I can also say I run 1000w PSU (which is priced closed to a 850w psu) but I only run 1 gpu because I can afford a 850w PSU. Redundancy is not for everyone

Aside, I don't see the point of having a 850w in his build. He is running a nvidia card without a sli capable board. If he were to run sli, he has to fork out extra for a new board (which would have been phased out) which would incur additional costs.

While some headroom would be nice, other wise I reccomend ts to have at most a 650w (SF leadex silver @ 12x). Remember, msi nightblade runs a desktop processor and 970 with a 300w PSU. A decent 850w (of another model) would cost 200 and upwards. And also don't see how is a 850w a mere 30 dollars more expensive than the cheapest and most decent 650w we can find...

Yeah while this is true, async shader is not all of dx 12. AMD does not have full feature set as of now too I believe...

How many DX12 games are there even on the market? How many game devs will be convinced to push out DX12 features for majority of consumers who are still stuck at DX11? How long will it take for all GPUs in the market, even those entry-level GPUs, to be DX12 capable? Only then will these DX12 benchmarks matter. Else it's all just squabbling between the AMD and Nvidia camps of high-end card owners.

Maybe by then, it won't be AMD Fury vs Nvidia GTX 980 Ti. It won't even be Nvidia Pascal vs AMD Polaris. It could very well be Nvidia Volta vs AMD's Polaris successor by then, given the time frame DX11 succeeded DX9 in the mainstream market.

the PSU you can get the Super Flower so have local warranty, the EVGA is using the same spec Super Flower Leadex Gold.
