Aftershock marketing is good
ask those in archi and see what laptop they using lol
Marketing actually quite good and price actually also quite good, but I guess the old reviews and comments about reliability was still the debatable points that the other vendors will use to talk about aftershock

In the end I settled for msi at a 200 premium and a desktop at about same price but just the design was a bit more unique compared to aftershock

Never buy during 6/6 sale?
Or on their Tiktok?
Sometimes they give free gift there.

I did have a pretty bad experience of my previous laptop whereby the specs sounded good, but actually the performance was really horrible...

So from then I learnt that specs alone good is not good enough but the internal combination is also important in ensuring the lappie runs efficiently

As such I am a bit more cautious towards these put together computer who's main niche is that they do lower prices and more customization especially in the laptop arena

not just the specs. but also the synergy inside the case.

Sadly I only just got it so no servicing yet, in fact the desktop still never delivery yet cause must customization.

That being said I did get 3 years warranty for the lappie cause I want it to last 3 years at least

Yea exactly I never knew synergy existed... I thought just good graphics card and good cpu... Then when booted up and test with total war, stutter like anything till I had to lower all the settings and still stutter. And ironically because the gpu was quite high rated, the default optimized setting by GeForce experience was optimized to a state with stutter (high quality) and even lowering it to half between performance and quality it was still stuttering.

It actually made me give up the game completely actually since it was so bad

Speaking of fan less the old laptop ran so badly that the laptop was overheating and actually crashed due to heating itself

Like you can't even touch the keyboard cause it was so hot

i know a lot of ppl speak against aftershockpc. but personally i had my first aftershock laptop in 2015 until 2023. for a total of 8 years, before i purchased a new aftershock laptop.
the first laptop did gave me some bluescreen issue in the first year but slowly fixed by itself, probably due to some firmware update.
and i purchased my second laptop with them april this year. honestly, at that i was deciding between asus or aftershock. but still stick to aftershock because all brands have supporter and hater. i just go with the one that works for me.
and my first laptop is technically still working when i decomm it. only thing is the battery is totally dead.

i would avoid fanless cooling, and slim laptop models from any make except apple. if you run stuff 24/7 that loads both the cpu and gpu to near 100% for a few months, either the motherboard's charging circuitry or gpu will break. i broke several laptops and graphics cards doing this

Yea that's why I am very cautious and went all the way for a 3 years warranty cause I do suspect laptops will suffer under intense gaming loads

no la, fanless don't mean no airflow and rely just on passive cooling....it's just the air propulsion tech is different. no spinning parts but got moving air. it claims to be more efficient and quieter at cooling small devices, and you can stack them up like Lian Li's uni-fans

it's called AirJet.

The Frore system need to wait for 2nd or 3rd gen before it can start cooling today's 200W++ laptops with discrete GPUs.

If powering just a regular 45W TDP IGpu, using 1st Gen already need about 4-5 of the Airjet Pro or 8-9 of the Airjet mini.

Why people say self build cheaper?

I see the invader PC, you buy the parts yourself or similar parts will cost more than the prebuild.

Dunno why all say cheaper, maybe can get better value for money parts like AIO with no RGB and better brand PSU but I don't think self build cheaper at all
