Kind of sad to see 2026 laptops with "new but old" CPUs like Ryzen 7 170 (Zen 3+).

Launch date: 01 Oct 2025 by AMD, pretty new

But the core is pretty old with Zen 3+.

Of course it is still much better than 2026 laptops with the real old Intel Core Ultra 5 115U CPU (Meteor Lake).

Acer Aspire Go 14 at S$809, 16GB/512GB configuration. Very bad to have the old Core Ultra 5 115U CPU, even with the low price.

Hi @xiaofan , meaning the above you shared is a better buy?

I don't have discount though (Shopee acc for banned) :(

No, I say the one I shared is much worse...

I have edited my post to make it clear that I do not recommend that one with the old Core Ultra 5 115U CPU, even with the low price.

I see, hmm as for the one I shared, how's $92x? any idea? :)

It was going at nearly $1.1-1.2k last week though

Sorry I am not into gaming so that I do not know how a RTX3050 can help for gaming.

Hopefully others can help to comment.

I just do not like the CPU used...

But I guess at such low price, cannot complain...

Lazada having sale at $92x :)
Late to the party, but regardless...

What is your use case for this laptop?
What games are you looking at to play?
Do you bring the laptop out of house?

For that price, i think it's alright but it really depends on what games you intend to play
3050 desktop card is already weak, when you throw it into a laptop, it gets even weaker.

Maybe aim for a 5050 or later one?

Had a "gaming" laptop with 960m in the past and never again i would get a laptop for gaming if i have to carry it out of house.

For that price, it's hard to debate.
Plus, the TUF series is a pretty respectable where product ruggedness is concerned.

Here's a review of the F15 from some years back, but it was using a high-end Intel 12th Gen processor with an RTX 3070.

To know what kind of performance you can get out of an RTX 3050, here's another ASUS laptop we reviewed, but again, it was endowed with a much better CPU:-

But like the above member asked, a lot depends on your expectations.

We can only see whether it's a good value or not, but whether it matches your needs - that's a different question.

If you have no expectations and you're a light gamer, it's a safe buy.

Closest deal available offline (until 31st May 2026) for this unit: https://www.gaincity.com/asus-tuf-gaming-15-6-r7-170-fa506ncq-hn019w-tb0014216

Note that the CPU isn't new either despite the marketing gimmick as it's a rebranded Ryzen 7 7735HS actually.
