Wait for Z490 since the Z390 is already outdated now. And paying for a 9900K makes no sense at this point when the 11th Gen is going to be out for possibly cheaper. 9700k price for 10900k something along those lines.

I myself am using the Z390 Aorus Master board and it's a bloody awesome board. Excellent thermals and great stability when overclocked. Get the Aorus Z490 Master to pair with the 10900K if you want to go the Intel route. Best match based on what you're looking for.

Agreed with this. If not it would be good to follow hafiz's advice for a Ryzen 3700X build, they have outmatched price vs performance with Intel. Best to buy a build within your budget and needs

I am currently having trouble deciding if this build worth it, or is there any other hardware which I need to modify? Example, do I need a NVME drive instead of SATA? Or should I consider another SSD for secondary storage?

Moreover, is there any recommendation for the brand of the RTX 2080Ti and NVME drive?

Get Ryzen 9 over Intel i9. Go forward to 25.30 mins of the above video. He explains why we are paying for more cores for GAMING.

Of course the Intel requires a much better cooler comparing AMD's counterparts. For gaming, anything more than 1080p, both perform the same interms of fps and the only main factor is the GPU. The X570 should be the board you should go for given the B450 is a dead platform for upgrading. The AMD platform overall will be a lower cost compared to the Intel.

Personally I'd not go even for the Z490 as while the boards support PCIE 4.0, the 10th Gen CPUs do not support it so it is pointless. Z490 would at max support 11th gen and nothing more after that as Intel and AMD would be releasing new platforms based on DDR5 after that. The X570 has been out for a while now and almost all of the problems have been rectified so you get a setup that's proven for reliability and speed. I can't think of why one would go for an Intel platform at this point unless you want to overclock but the 10th Gen are already maximised you won't get much out of it. Memory overclocking is fun on Intel and you gain alot of difference in games 0.1% lows for FPS when pushing it past 4000, but B-Die memory as you know is already EOL. So really there isn't much attraction to the Intel platform now unless you're a fanboy especially when you're not really getting anything much over the Z390 other than just a slightly overclocked version of the 9th Gen out of the box with native Wifi-6 support.

if u are willing to spend time tinkering with the bios, u can get crucial ballistix 3000mhz cl15 and oc to 3200mhz and tweak the timings too. heard the micron e dies they use on ballistix are quite good to oc (as good as samsung b die) so not much to worry.

Cpu - 9900k is fine but if you can get a 9900ks, even better. If you're planning to overclock, then the cooling considerations will be affected. If you don't want to tinker too much, get the highest clock speed out of the box (9900ks) and do some under volting to keep temperatures at bay (below 70 at load)

If you insist on getting Intel, you are better off getting a 10700k and a Z490 board than going back on a Z390 board unless you already have that. It makes no sense at all getting a Z390 at this point. Rather, an X570 is a much better bet with the upcoming 3900XT if you are going to spend that kind of money.

That's right, it was a special edition that was released in limited quantities. However, based on my comments previously the situation has changed and will continue changing. 10th gen has been released and AMD's zen 2 refresh (XT) processors are going to be out too. If you still haven't built a pc, like fellow forumer has suggested, that's a better choice.

I still feel given your current system you should wait it out until the Ryzen gen 3 is released and the Nvidia 3000 series GPU's at that point if you insist on going the Intel route they may reduce pricing to be more competitive.

Personally I would go the AMD Ryzen 9 route which is what I did do back in March. So far I'm very happy with the performance of my system.
