It's possible.

Is there sharp pain when you put weight on it?

Or maybe even if you pull a bed sheet over it?

Gout usually near joints and toes

Gout also usually affect one side only

This is something else

---

Gout usually hits one side (often one big toe or one foot) because a gout “attack” is almost always focused on a single joint at a time.gouteducation+1

Why it’s usually one side

  • Crystals irritate one joint first: Uric acid crystals tend to build up in a particular joint and then suddenly trigger a strong local inflammatory reaction there, so you feel intense pain, redness and swelling in that one spot.mayoclinic+1
  • Big toe/foot are common “weak points”: The joint at the base of the big toe is the classic first site because it’s cooler, bears a lot of stress, and often has minor wear-and-tear, which makes crystal deposition and inflammation more likely.parkwayeast+2
  • Typical pattern of gout flares: Early in the disease, flares usually involve just one joint at a time (monoarthritis), even though crystals can silently be present in more than one joint.niams.nih+1
  • Both sides can be affected over time: With years of uncontrolled high uric acid, gout can start affecting multiple joints and even both feet, but this is more typical of advanced or chronic gout.creakyjoints+2
If one foot is suddenly very painful, red, hot and tender (especially the big toe or mid-foot) without injury, it’s worth seeing a doctor to confirm if it’s gout and check uric acid levels.healthhub+2

If already got gout and with painful joint pains in the leg, then need to visit your GP for confirmation it is gout. Some docs can test your uric acid levels in your finger blood using a test kit. Once confirmed gout, the doc likely to prescribe colchicine and pain killer medication. If frequently got gout then may need to take allopurinol to lower your uric acid levels.
