Is Visual Studio 2017 good alternative to Webstorm?

Is visual studio community a good IDE for javascript and node.js? How does it compare with webstorm? It will be good to hear feedback from people who used both.

VS2017 community edition is free while Webstorm is getting more expensive. I am thinking of switching to VS2017. Anything from Microsoft should have certain minimum standard due to powerful brand name. VS is known to be world-class as an IDE.

Visual Studio Code with the right extensions is really good for JS and NodeJS development.

have been using VS code for front end angular and backend nodejs + express. their extensions are pretty good
