Is Wedding Package really worthwhile?

I did mine DIY because there's more control

Total for prewed local photoshoot (full set of 300+ photos from freelancers out there, there's so many), 3 gowns (taobao), 2 suits (local famous tailor + BKK), actual day MUA + trial MUA for photoshoot day was about $2.5k
Of course there's less convenience as everything you do your own
but satisfaction is definitely there and there's better control
prewed local photoshoot by japanese photographer - $300
MUA - $300 (trial for photoshoot and actual day)
Taobao 3 gowns - $300+
His 2 suits - $1500+
Decor (taobao) - around $100


Add in actual day photog/videog (from the good companies, also full set + full footage) it's about 2.5k additional.

Packages are good if you want a fuss free wedding. Otherwise, assemble your own vendors. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories that their photographers not good, mua not good etc.

All in all, I ala carted all the way and spent about 6k - $7k in total on:

prewed shoot: $1700 base package with add on fees = $2360
father/father in law/groom suits: $500
3 bridal gowns: $700
1 wedding tea dress: $100
photographer: $1800
2 makeup artists for mother & bride: $600+
emcee: $300
guo da li: $212
car rental & deco: $450
flower bouquet: $100
printing fee for 200 wedding invites: $280
Misc on album table & dessert table deco
