Issues on adding RAMs

Hi pros, need some help here.

Previously i was using 2x8GB 3200mhz Corsair rams on my 2600x MSI B450 Pro Carbon AC and managed to get the rams running at 3200hz via XMP Profile 2.

But recently i added another of the same kit to make it 4x8GB 3200mhz but somehow the rams are capped at 2133mhz. Tried disabling XMP and changed the timing to 3200mhz then down to 2933mhz and also increasing dram voltage to 1.4 but to no avail.

Pros have any idea what i'm doing wrong? Or is this some sort of a limitation from the motherboard for using all 4 slots?

Is your motherboard BIOS up-to-date? The earlier versions had some memory compatibility issues.

Sell your 4x 8GB memory and buy 2x 16GB.

Yes it's the latest already. Any other ideas?

Are the 2 sets of RAM identical? Double check that both the Speed and latency are the same. Are they 3200Mhz CL 16's?

XMP with all 4 ram slot populated running at 3200mhz need close to a miracle to work.

It's well known that XMP don't work well when all 4 slots populated on Ryzen system.

Zen 1 IMC isn't good to begin with, and you are straining it even harder by running 4 sticks on a daisy-chain board, so the chances for hitting 3200 are slim.

It's nothing new, populating all DIMM slots was already a well known compatibility issue all the way back to the DDR1 days.

I am not sure if Zen+ will play well with 4 x 8GB. Generally you should only run 2x 8GB if you want the rams to run at a higher frequency. I don’t think it is a ram issue here. More of the limitation with the Zen+ memory controller.

Anyway, I do recommend not buying Corsair rams for any Ryzen rig as well. It seems that there are still non Ryzen compatible Corsair rams out there.
