Itching to hoot SSD

Hi guys. Been using HDD all my life. nv tried SSD b4 since HDD is serving me very well already and have no problems with it.

But people have been raving about how u try SSD u wont wan to go back..

Im using GIGABYTE ga-h55-s2h MOBO with SATA 2 3gb/s

What would be a good recommendation? The reviews i've seen like samsung pro 840 very very fast.. is that an overkill for an old mobo like this?

not going to get big ssd.. i think 128gb enuff. cause still got HDD.

any value recommendation?

i felt the speed increase and really worth it.

Only when transferring bulk files... Other than that, mere couple of seconds difference from other "slower" ones...

In your case, get the cheapest will do...

Made the switch 2 months ago. Could not be gladder.
No more hdd spinning when im asleep.
bootup faster. literally i can just snap my finger at the windows loading screen and viola, see wallpaper and I know its ready for use.

Depending on the costs. Ssds are small and light, even if u need to rma overseas, it will not cost a lot, further ssd has no mechanical parts -> chances of failure is much lower than traditional hdd. If the cost differs by more than 30%, it might be worth the risk.

Alternatively, get intel 530 which has international coverage.

been using SSD for a couple of years.... please get 256 or 240GB so that you will not regret later on

After using SSD as your main OS drive, also note that a lot of temp file will still be taking up your space and you will find the space is getting lesser and lesser if u got 128gb... even at 256 GB i'm quickly running out of space too.
