1. Can I bring an empty normal size water bottle in my handcarry ?
The 100ml rule is only if the bottle contains liquid right?

2. Can bring flu pills / singapore panadol in handcarry bag?

All these rule for handcarry is at which part of the airport ? Can I refill my empty water bottle after their checks and bring the water on the plane?

So I assume that it is singapore side that will check for all these which means if i'm going to japan, japanese airport will not care if my bottle have more than 100ml water because i'm not boarding a plane.

3. What are the processes of taking a flight. Haven't travel for a long time and would like to be familiar with it.

First thing is probably collect my plane tickets from air china booths by showing my e-tickets, then what is next?

It's the containers, not the liquid. You can have 100ml x3 bottles of liquid, but not 1x 300ml of liquid in a container. Neither can you have 50ml of liquid in a 300ml container.

Check in at the respective check in counter with your passport and you will be given your boarding pass.

So empty 500 ml bottles are ok.

What about sharp metal objects ? I will need to bring a metal pin for changing my sim card is that allowed?

Yes empty bottles are fine.
You can fill up water from dispenser after the security check before boarding the plane.

All Medication are fine as well as long as it is not in liquid form of more than 100ml.
Do note that the medication labels have to be intact or a doc prescription provided.

Sim card pin is ok but no nail cutter / file / scraper / knife etc.

If nail cutter like this without any file or knife, is it ok?

Yes you can check in most things.
Do note that you cannot check in any type of batteries , weapons , flammable liquid i.e. alcohol based cleaner or spray, gas lighter, ..

Is it less than 100ml? Is it in a special sealed bag from the airport duty free? If either of the answers is NO, then you CANNOT bring it in your carry on.

Yes it's OK, esp if it is small.

Normally, most airports don't care about small items as long as it is not obviously a knife, blade or metallic tool (eg, pliers).

But if you bring any of these stuff, prepare to have them discarded if you meet an anal security personnel, although I've personally rarely had any issues.
