itinerary check: 4d3n BKK

will be visiting BKK in April for the 1st time with total of 4 adults 1 child; staying @ Novotel Platinum. below is my brief itinerary; dear peeps, pls. advise if workable...

19th (Fri): arrive BBK in the morning, check-in, visit to Wat Pho-> Wai Traimit-> Yaworat. heard that in Yaworat, bird nest is cheap & nice, any recommendation? will be booking a tour to Bai Long Wang Temple @ around 12.30am.

20th (Sat): Only go out in the late morning/ afternoon; advised to go Chatuchak Weekend Market? Evening head to Asiatique.

21st (Sun): Thought of going to the Dream World; hardly anyone recommend in forum though. If not, sure shop around in Pratunum area? Which are the recommended shopping malls?

22nd: chiong last minute shopping nearby. noon flight back to SG.

I think a visit to White Dragon King requires prior booking and arrangement. It appears that you have this arranged. The place is a distance outside Bangkok. There are several threads dedicated to the topic in this forum.

Dreamworld has seen better days. Not sure how it is now, but it was popular 10 years ago. In any case, you better have transportation arranged beforehand for both directions.

Shop MBK, platinum mall, central world. Chatuchak is very hot, if u can stand the heat, it is a good place to shop.

Just asking ah... Is CTC actually a good place to go? I've been to bkk once but since my trip was on weekdays, I couldn't go CTC. I'm planning to go bkk again soon, and I'm trying to arrange the trip to be over the weekend just so that I can go CTC to have a look. But all these emphasis on the heat is scaring me a little (I can fall sick after a hot morning in sentosa)... So is there actually anything that's worth me braving the heat just to go there on a weekend?

To me, its more like a "been there, done that" type of place to go, otherwise will always have that regret feeling that I never been to Bangkok before as majority of ppl equate CTC to BKK

You may want to arrange your trip in such a way that you will arrive at CTC in the morning when it is not so hot. By noon, when the heat kicks in, you should have a rough feel of that place and ready to head to other shopping complexes with air con for the afternoon. I would recommend Union mall which is just one MRT station away from CTC.

Things in CTC are not that cheap afterall. Two things that attract me are the coconut ice cream and the Teh Tarik

Union mall is where their locals go for their clothing so price should be cheaper then platinium mall.

When at CTC, depend on which exit u come out from, either head towards Kamphaeng Phet MRT station of Chatuchak Park MRT station. Union mall is located at Phahon Yothin MRT station which is just one station away from CTC park MRT.

yea should give union mall a try and i have been there a couple of times. it's abit far out but overall still worth visiting. i think it's much better than platinum mall.

should give their tesco (go google it) a try too and alot of things to buy there. if u like can pop by to pantip IT mall where they sell cheap printer ink. give big c a try too ie all are within walking distance.

can read up some of the threads here as they have pics and narrations for your easy reference. enjoy and see u guys in bkk if u are travelling over this weekend!!
