Well ... you still have to do stuff in between meals and beers. Sapporo isn't a particularly big or exciting city, it's nothing like Tokyo. If you're content just wandering around and/or resting in the hotel then sure, it's your holiday and you should holiday the way you enjoy holiday'ing. But for most people I think would prefer planning in a couple of days outside the city (e.g. noboribetsu, jozankei or one of the other onsens nearby).also, the main reason I travel is to eat delicious food and drink (wife and myself are huge beer lovers)... my wife also loves to shop, Sapporo seems to have so many shopping centres etc
good points... I think the malls and shopping will keep my wife (and by extension, me) busy enough between meal times... but yea it's probably gonna be a pretty relaxing holiday with alot of sitting around at cafes idling away... generally we don't enjoy leaving the city for the countryside whenever we travel. perhaps we should consider doing thatWell ... you still have to do stuff in between meals and beers. ok thanks.. we both love whisky too so this is perfectguessing around 1 hour ?
wow ok I'll remove Sapporo factory from my plans. thanks for the tips! I hope I'm well prepared for the cold though.. sometimes you never really know till you get there and get smack in the face by the cold wind heheSapporo station itself there's a few big department stores like daimaru , stella , esta etc. If you intend to spend all the days in Sapporo just get lost and walk around and you will find very interesting eatery etc .
Curb market got more store but I feel nijo market serve better food thou.
Can walk to sushukino etc .
Just do not waste your time going to Sapporo factory . IMO I feel there's isn't anything there except some stores selling winter gears, furniture etc . I was there two days ago and I end up at one of the coffee cafe sipping coffee and smoking relaxing my time away .
It's really cold here now so please gear yourself sufficiently .
Enjoy !
personally I always follow the rule of 10000yen per person per day for expenses. served me well so farSorry to hijack. I have the same itinerary as you. 7 nights in Hokkaido/Sapporo. How much should I budget per day on food shopping etc? Never been to Japan before so I can't tell how much the prices are
