I selective use parking mode when I park in high vehicle traffic carparks and 'dangerous' spots.

Also selectively on parking mode when I park at my house MSCP (so far quite safe).

Install a UPC to DVR will cut the power to DVR at preset voltage or timing, thus saving the battery sufficient to start the car. Install a ON/OFF switch in front of UPS will permanent cut power to UPC and hence DVR if OFF.

I will OFF the switch when I feel I do not need parking recording or when I need to take out or change SD Card :)

Same here. I use it selectively. Not had an issue with it though. Quite pleased with the product and I'm quite happy that I installed the on/off switch. Makes it much easier to handle :)

Guys, just wanna seek help here in case my car battery dies. Sent a SMS to Xavier already but hope to get help here as well.

I seem to be having some problems with the ITB100 or the power saver. Car seems to sound different when I cranked up this morning. ITB100 also not on, and it boot up when my engine is running. When I stop the car and start the car, then ITB100 starts up. So I must have been off when engine not running. Car travelled 80+km yesterday so car batt or power saver should not be low in charge.

Anyone knows how to remedy? I turned off the ITB100 just in case cannot start the car at all.

My car batt was flat after the torrential rain on tues morning. Batt was 1 year old. Try setting the power saver to cut off at a higher voltage of 12.2v. Can anyone advise on the consumption rate of this device?

Ok, will get the battery replaced. Just called up my service centre. They said they will come down and replace car battery for me. I just need to pay for the battery.

Confirm. I off the itb last nite after i parked. Volt meter gave me a +0.5v reading as compared to usual day. Is there an alternative to install a separate battery for the device?

You can either get the power magic pro plus ..like the one I used with a switch or buy this

Take note that the T-PowerC requires about 4hrs of driving to fully recharge the battery....

standard bettery behavior mah..the more electronic gadgets you tie to car battery, the shorter is the lifespan..

Want max battery lifespan = go stock and no additions :s22:.

go workshop and have them to install a on/off switch before UPC and DVR. This will cut power to everything once the switch is OFF.

4 hours?! It's very hard to even get 40mins in Singapore! Looks like must drive to KL then can... so, it seems tjat this device don't make sense.

i got the switch installed. I also got the power saver installed but it only help to mitigate the risk of battery flat resulting in unable to crank start the car. It won't reduce the
loading of battery when not driving. So, in summary, no point installing if i am to off it every time after i parked.

My car have been running 24/7 for the past 1 year+ with front & rear camera. No issues of overdraining. Unless i go overseas for more than 4 days then i will power off the unit.:vijayadmin:

Power saver will cut off the power supply at 12V, but your other internal clocks, alarms, accessories drawing power is not controlled by the Power Saver Cut Off ,thus risk further draining of your car battery (when voltage below 12v) till you cant start your car (eg. 10.8v).

This is the same theory applied to any installed car dvr with power cut off monitor.

My recorder makes 3 beeps maybe around 30 seconds after I start the car...

Does it mean my car batt is low? I don't remember hearing it last time unless I haven't driven for quite a while. But now I drive continuous days it does the 3 beeps.

I have a power saver installed too.

3 beeps means the camera just powered up. Either batt low or something else.

Xavier was professional to attend to me on suspection that the power magic n itb being faulty, but even after changing my itb n power magic it still powers down after parking for less than 1-2hrs (random). Thank u again.

Seeked his advice and tested the batt voltage after parking the car and waited for itb to shut down itself, batt was tested showing 12.3v so the batt was healthy.

Somehow I can only deduce like bm cars, the car will detect 3rd party devices and cut off power to such devices as a safety measure, so power magic or not the car will cut off power to such devices. Now prolly u notice seldom seeing dvrs installed on beemers :)

Thanks for the reply! Wa, you sat in the car just to wait for it to power down?! must commend on your patience. :s13:

I was just thinking, maybe I drive everyday but not long enough, about 1hr+ each day only. Is that too short a duration thats why it has to power up everytime?

Fyi, I got the unit March this year and my car batt was changed Dec 2012. Started noticing the 3 beeps this month. Only other external device I use in the car is a GPS.

Something wrong with the unit or does a car batt go flat so fast? :s22:

Thanks for any help rendered.

For BMW, try wire the DVR or power magic device to the IU. Hope this helps. :)
