Ordered the ITB100HD through XuiteShop. Very smooth transaction from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Couple of questions about the camera, though:

1. Is it normal for the camera to remain silent when the car's started? The manual says it should beep 3 times when the car is started, but I wonder if mine doesn't because it's hardwired into the car so it's never switched off. I sometimes wonder if the camera's switched on because there's no feedback.

2. I notice there's a LED light next to PWR and MIC. The one of the MIC never lights up. Is this normal? I was trying to toggle between MIC on and off but found that it was the LED next to PWR which would change from green to red.

All in I'm quite happy with the camera and quality. Just a little disappointed with the in-car user interface. In particular, I'm always worried the camera isn't working. I can check to see if the LED light is on, but as the camera's behind the rear view mirror that isn't always convenient. My friend has the Blackvue installed and there are audio prompts which let you know the camera's working. I think that's a lot better.

thanks for your reply. Yes, I have the power saver. OK, seems like once it's installed I can forget about it :)

Yes, it is install and forget.

I believe you can activate voice guidance.. I get a sweet lady voice that greet me 'power on', 'gps activated'', 'powered off'

Sometimes when she talks gibberish in Korean, I take the SD card out to reformat.. Haa..

can i know the optional power saver is referring to battery pack? how long will the batt lasts?

the $30 installation will include hiding the wire and installation of the power saver?

if not mistaken, the power saver is a device connects to the car battery.
dvr -> power saver -> car battery... it prevents the car battery from falling a preset voltage, so that it is possible to crank the car.
while the dvr is still online, if the battery falls below the stated voltage, the power saver will cut off the supply to the dvr.

the $30 includes hiding of wire and installation of one camera...

It's not battery like UPS... its a device to cut the power between your car battery to the camera after a preset setting (ie below a certain voltage level), if the camera connects to it.

Installation cost include expert wiring and DVR camera mounting, so that you only see a short cable exposed on top of the camera.

You are correct.
Older Itronics model, you can ==>
DVR --> ON/off switch --> power saver --> car battery

SPW model comes with on/off switch ==> power saver --> car battery

You only need power saver device if:
- You use parking mode recording (ie, engine off, still recording)
- You are parking for not a long time..

For longer time parking (eg: overseas travels), and if your battery is getting old, even with power saver, sometimes you will still not able to start your car (other car electronics may still consuming that battery). A on/off switch helps to permanently cut off power to DVR, thus consuming no battery in this case.

Understand that this is a "one camera" without support for a scondary cam at the back?
If i want both, front and back, I need to order two? If so, any discount for that ?

Thanks.
