What I mean is that if my new notebook comes with 128gb ssd and the iPhone capacity is 128gb,so how to backup?

If u r using MAC, launch the Photo app. U should see your iphone photos. Create a library at external drive and copy the iphone pictures to the library.

You have back up your photos to the library via Photo app. That's what I did.. Of cos you can use iPhoto app or any other app too.

Maybe you can use image capture app to manually copy the files directly to your external drive.
