Hi. I am currently living overseas at the moment and currently looking motherboard recommendations.

specs as below as I already bought those items

AMD 3600
Corsair SF 450w platinum
GIGABYTE RTX 2060 SUPER GAMING - 3 fan variant
Corsair RGB 3200MHZ RAM 16GB 8X2
noctua u12s black - CPU cooler
1tb wd blue nvme SSD
lian Li tu 150 itx case
case fans - ezydiy - china made RGB fans
Silverstone fans filter

I have a hard time deciding between GIGABYTE x570i. and ASRock x570 itx. main concern is vrm fan noise , thermals and lack of USB C front panel asmy case has one in front.

b550 itx motherboards are currently out of stocks at the moment. not sure it's worth the wait for them or I should I just get the x570 itx board

I feel the Gigabyte B550i is probably one of the best in terms of price and features. And yes, quite a lot of B550 boards are short or out of stock.

I managed to get hold of a Asus ROG Strix X570 I Gaming from Amazon US but was lucky and for a good price too. I would just keep monitoring Amazon and grab either a X570 or B550 as they do come up at reasonable prices every now and then. Just 3-4 days ago the Gigabyte X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi was priced at $309!

With regards to the USBC header, the case I'm hoping to drop mine in is the NZXT H1 and that too has a USBC front connector so I've ordered an adapter to convert USB3.0 to USB3.1 (USBC front header). Since the board also has USB3.0 front connectors I have ordered a 2nd converter to convert USB2.0 to USB3.0 - These have not arrived yet so not tested but this should work. These items are cheap via Lazada (about $12 for both).

Somehow I managed to find a b550i MSI gaming edge with stock. Will see how once they actually shipped it. Abit overpriced compared to x570 but oh well.

He already bought all the items beside the motherboard. The TU150 support 320mm long cards and 3 slots. His GPU should have no issue going in.

vrm fan noise? i don't see any vrm fans on my gigabyte x570i. there's only a chipset fan. and I cant hear anything even when its spinning, you can switch it to silent profile in bios if you don't want it to spin up at all.

My converters arrived. So I’m converting USB 3.0 to USB 3.1(USBC front panel). I am also converting USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 for the front panel connectors.

Of course they will have especially going from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 but I'm just happy they work. Tested both and I have my front panel connectors all working

For me I just want them to work on the front,.. speed does not bother me that much from the front panel. I am using the Asus ROG Strix X570 I Gaming motherboard and I know I have additional ports on the rear that can achieve the full speed when I speed. This is my 2nd PC which will eventually be in mounted in a NZXT H1 case. Temporarily I have it mounted in my ATX case while I wait for the H1 to become available.

Details of the speed impact as follows: -

USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0
The USB 2.0 standard offers a theoretical maximum signaling rate of 480 megabits per second, while USB 3.0 defines a maximum rate of 5 gigabits per second. In other words, USB 3.0 is theoretically more than ten times faster than USB 2.0.

USB 3.0 vs USB 3.1
To achieve USB 3.1 transfer speeds, your USB host connection, cables, and device must all support USB 3.1. USB 3.1 is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps). USB 3.0 is capable of data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps. USB 3.0 is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps).

Yeah I checked. The GPU is 2 expansion slots..the casing have no problems fitting 3 slots gpu

Was looking at an ITX build but current B550 prices are insane in Singapore. The ITX motherboards are like 10% less expensive than the X570 motherboards. If that's the case you might as well get the X570 ones instead.

They certainly are overpriced and since they still are a cutdown X570 I personally feel they are not worth it.

Best thing to do is to monitor Amazon for a good priced ITX. I eventually settled on the Asus ROG Strix X570 I Gaming which I managed to secure for $365. I was ready to buy at SLS for $529 but fortunately for me there was no stock. I also checked with Asus Singapore and the RRP is $555.

I came across a Gigabyte X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi a few weeks later which I feel is a good board at a good price point. Price has gone up but like I said you need to monitor and grab when they do become available.

Got my build done last week. Don't mind the cable management. Have to get psu extension cables as the corsair ones are too short to do proper cable management
