ITX Setup - Comments please

Hi,

Decide to build an ITX gaming rig. mainly for racing and sim games with occasionally first player games. for app will be more on excel and VBA. please advice which parts should i change.


AMD Ryzen 3600
MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC ( ITX )
CM Hyper 212
Ram - can recommend? looking for 2 x 8Gb
PSU - Corsair RM650 Gold
SSD - Samsung Evo 970 1tb
GPU - Zotac 2060 or 2070 mini
Case - LianLi TU150

Need sfx psu. Corsair RM650 Gold cannot go in.
Size of LianLi TU150 is similar to matx case.. u ok?
Bad airflow case. Its better to run AIO.

Its better if u can b550 boards to come out before deciding.

I set an alarm via BIOS to sound when the CPU temp hits a certain level.

Tools like HWMonitor will show the pump flow rate/fan rpm of the MB header connected to the pump so you can use this to check whether the pump is working.

The whole point of buy an itx case because its much much smaller then matx case. I have 2x Nano S and its similar size to my CM N200...

The lian li is slightly smaller of course. Nice case.

PSU go module if u can. 600w at least if u are going for rtx 2070.

Corsair's SF (gold/platinum, SFX form factor) and Seasonic's SGX (SFX-L) are highly rated and you really can't go wrong with any of them.
For the ram, get the cheapest 3200mhz CL16 as 3600mhz CL18 provides little benefit for people who are just going to turn on XMP only and not going into any manual tweaking.

(Even in kits with good timings (3200 cl14 vs 3600 cl17), the performance increase is negligible for games and often not worth paying extra for.)
For the cooling, corsair's H60 (2018) is a very solid 120mm AIO and definitely will be able to handle a Ryzen 3600

Haha i owned a matx mobo previously during the i5 4590 series..now intend going for itx..with slightly bigger case is fine but want to have the option to decommission to htpc few years down the road..

Other than aio, is noctua u12a good for this case?

The problem with this case is its not high airflow case. noctua u12a/CM 212x is not that suitable. It can still run just not optimum.

Suggest to take alook at taobao variates instead. Some has alot of vents.

I have Geeek A50, main rig on R7 2700 on B450i Aurous.

H60 will do fine if u dont overclock.. I undervolt mine.. Maintain factory frequency while down volt.

casing was about the size of TU105 but just shorter right.

Did you change the PSU? is this also using the SF PSU?

Using FTZ01. Dated design but still one of the lowest footprint that fits a full length GPU
