iwork vs microsoft office

Are you all using iwork or microsoft office on your mac?

Been using both since iWork '09. Once awhile switch here switch there, but overall i find it the same. iWork interface looks abit better, and good cos of integration with iCloud drive.

The doc i saved in pages can be opened using microsoft word? any idea?

Despite claims of being 100% compatible, I have found that non MS suites but it iWorks, Open Office, Libra Office, etc tend to have the formatting go out of whack. If you are using very very simple Word, Excel or Powerpoint docs with no or very little formatting then I guess its fine.

Otherwise you will go nuts. My office uses MS Office and at one stage I was using Open Office when I was still on PC. Then when I became a Mac user I used Neo Office then iWorks. Went crazy having to redo the formatting each time I brought work home from the office or vice versa.

The fault mainly lies with MS. Even MS web based office docs do not always work well when opened with MS full suite. Purpose is to make you pay to use their MS Office.
