Downloading from GenYT is working now, issue seem to be YT related as download was problematic across many download sites for most part of yesterday.

YP is still not working at the time of this posting.

Thanks for the update. Really cham, no long term viable method to download each week... makes me so nervous that if I missed one week, I can't go back and re-download

Your worry is not totally without merit. There are past episodes that for what ever reason became no longer available (private video) like ep 150 & 151 (中国 黃山). And I believed there more of such cases.

You've confirmed my worst fears - that the Youtube links are not here to stay, for anyone to freely watch or download for long term. Unlike other Taiwan shows like 国光帮帮忙. This is a huge pity because one could see the efforts put in by Mr. Player to make each episode interesting, not just the game segments but the funny little 'animations'. It would be a terrible waste to see these episodes just not available anymore.

But moving forward, let's continue to watch or download as long as we can. Million thanks for your upload of the link every single week. I always look forward to every Monday and check into this thread to see if you've posted the link to the latest episode. At least something to motivate me for the week. THANK YOU!

This is crazy, seems like there's no way to download anymore.

Just googled, and there's a program called 4KDownloader. Has anyone used it? And does this mean there's just no way Youpak, GenYT can download at all now, and future?

I shared this previously and its still working. Go to https://www.clipconverter.cc/ and input the url of the youtube video and then convert. Usually i stick to the default option of 720p as the conversion would be almost instant. If you choose other resolution or file format, the conversion process may take between 10-15mins. Once done, you can then download the converted file.

There are many different ways to download YT video, the links provided is meant for those who wishes to watch it online which is not possible due to geoblock (courtesy of SH).

Personally I would use youtube-dl command-line program to download. The only con is a working proxy server is required to overcome the geoblock. Alternative, the easy way is to use the site mentioned by ferocity, will include this for the next ep.

Torrent method for lower res

FYI.

For those who want to download and watch, and don't mind a lower resolution than HD 720P (offered on YT, if you can bypass successfully), you can go to the torrent site below. It has all kinds of drama and variety shows, but a lower resolution. File size is also < 1GB.

For me, I am still trying to compile a list of methods to bypass YT and download in HD 720P.

Totally agree that lots of storage is needed if we need to store 720P versions. Each episode is ~ 1GB. For this purpose, I bought 2 external HDD 1TB, one as primary to view on my TV via a multimedia player, and another as backup.
