吳宗憲（憲哥）23日錄製《綜藝大熱門》前受訪，對著媒體們再掏真心話，他說前幾日有一位摯友「王董」驟逝，讓他特別難過，半夜醒來回顧起這幾十年的演藝生涯，就會覺得時光匆匆，決定這1、2年內一定要退出綜藝圈，將心力全投入拍電影、當導演，也算是完成好友遺願！ 摯友突然過世，吳宗憲心中感慨萬千，他認為對方個性好、事業成功，但卻 在50多歲就走到盡頭，進了醫院沒再出來，吳宗憲當時正巧在花蓮出外景，得知消息後難過不已，只能在臉書PO文哀悼，和好友「天堂相約」再一起抽雪茄，內 心也受到影響，吳宗憲開始審視自己的人生，他說：「我年輕就出來唱歌，然後一回頭才發現30幾年就這樣過去了，好可怕！晚上醒來都會很SHOCK！」

他覺得自己做太多綜藝節目，原本今年就打算離開這圈子，只是沒想到又因緣際會開了一個《小明星大跟班》，收視雖然穩定，但也認為該適時轉換跑道，至於何時退出？吳宗憲透露：「因為我這個人性情也是很詭譎的，沒有時間表的！」
脫離綜藝後，吳宗憲打算將目標放在大銀幕上，「畢竟電影比較好玩嘛！要不然我怎麼對得起我台藝大的教授呢？我學長是侯孝賢、李安，那我的知名度也不在他們之下。」現在他也會趁節目錄影空檔，召開電影籌備會議，敬業指數破表。
