If you want to queue for rides, you won't have enuf time to squeeze disneyland and disneysea into 1 day. If you are just walking around, taking photos, and not so much queueing for rides, then yeah, u can probably squeeze both into 1 day.

Hi All,

Some changes in Tokyo and we confirm 1 day each for Disneyland and DisneySea and swap with the last 2 days in Tokyo.

Any idea what to do for the 3 days 2 nights stay in Kawaguchiko/Hakone for day6 and day7 ? I want to see cherry blossom, Hachi-Hachi Ropeway, Lake kawaguchi, Mount fuji 5th station as well as explore Hakone. Anybody travel from Hakone -> kawaguchi or vice versa?

For Transport, is this worth buying a JR pass since I arrive at Tokyo and depart from Osaka?

Day 1 (tokyo)
9am arrive tokyo
Asakusa
Sensoji Temple

Day 2 (tokyo)
Shinkuku
Shinjuku Gyeon
Harjuku
Shibuya

Day 3 (tokyo)
Tsukiji Fish Market
Ginza
Umeo Park
Toshogu Shrine
Bentendo Hall Temple
Akihabara

Day 4 (tokyo, Disney Hotel)
Disneyland

Day 5 (tokyo Disney Hotel)
DisneySea

Day 1 (tokyo)
9am arrive tokyo
Asakusa
Sensoji Temple
[u probably will not need the whole day for Asakusa. Maybe u can plan something for the evening and night. maybe visit Skytree which is in Asakusa, or explore the area near wherever u are staying]

Day 2 (tokyo)
Shinkuku
Shinjuku Gyeon
Harjuku
Shibuya
[going to be very rush to cover so many places in a day. being sakura season, u will probably be spending some time in Shinjuku Gyeon. and with the malls and Tokyo Metropolitan Gov building, u will probably need 3/4 day just for Shinjuku + Shinjuku Gyeon.
I suggest doing Harajuku on another day coz Harajuku has lots to see as well. Meiji Shrine, Yoyogi park, Takesh!ta-dori, Omodesando etc.]

Day 3 (tokyo)
Tsukiji Fish Market
Ginza
Umeo Park
Toshogu Shrine
Bentendo Hall Temple
Akihabara
[this may be quite rush also, but it depends on how much time u are going to spend shopping in Ginza and Akihabara]

Day 4 (tokyo, Disney Hotel)
Disneyland

Day 5 (tokyo Disney Hotel)
DisneySea

some comments above.
u dun need the 7-day JR pass since the single trip ticket from Tokyo to Kyoto/Osaka is only around 14k yen while the pass cost 29110yen.

Thanks for the tip , will try to re-arrange the tokyo trips..

I am now troubled for kawaguchi and Nara.

For Nara, easier for me to stay at
osaka <--> Nara OR
kyoto <-> Nara

Asakusa/Sensoji Temple won't take too long...one or two hours will do. Try out some traditional snacks along the route from the gate to the temple.
Rickshaw touts will be around near the road. A nice way to take a look around the area.
There's also a tourist center where you can get travel advice/recommendations. Go upstairs to have a good view of the surroundings and of the bustling temple grounds.

The skytree is nearby so you may want to visit there too. Or you can go Ueno Park(museums/zoo) a few stops away. Akihabara is also a few stops away.

I think there is not shinkansen from kawaguchiko. The nearest shinkansen stn should be Shin Yokohama

Oh yah, I am troubled now on what should be the best way to travel to Kyoto

Your FujiHakone pass covers your return trip to Shinjuku. The bus trip only lasted 80min. And from shinjuku to Kyoto via Tokyo stn is 170min and cost 13600. Transfer is 3 times.

Fuji Hakone Pass | Economical Excursion Tickets | Odakyu Electric Railway

Or the Hyperdia suggested way of taking Fujikyu to Otsuki/Hachioji-ShinYokohama-Kyoto route. Transfer is 3 times. Total time required 330min. Cost 14020

Thanks !Thats really helpful

I am considering 2 options below. What would be you best advice ? Convenience and Time more important.

1) Lake Kawaguchiko > Fujikyu bus (two hours, 2480 yen, 1-2 departures per hour--> Mishima Station --> Tokaido Shinkansen (two hours, 11,000 yen, one direct train every two hours) --> Kyoto

Fuji Five Lakes Travel: Access, Transportation and Orientation

前往富士五湖

2) As your advised, Go back shinjuku free and take shinkansen to Kyoto.

Your #1 seems better. MISHIMA to KYOTO is about 60min one train. But not sure Fujikyu buses can handle your luggage or not, if cannot you may need TQBIN to forward your luggage to Kyoto. And Fujikyu buses is covered by the FujiHakone pass

wow such coincidence
I'm going to Japan on March 28 too but for 14 days
but my schedule is a lot more packed because I've been to Tokyo, Hakone, Yokohama, Kamakura before.

Previously I went to Disneyland and you definitely need a full day for this because there is some float parade at night and fireworks. The queue is also super long, around 3 hours for rollercoaster ride. I only managed to cover like 80% of Disneyland in a day.

This is my itinerary, I'm definitely getting the JR pass because I need to take shinkansen
Day 1-3: Tokyo
Day 4: Yokohama
Day 5: Lake Kawaguchi
Day 6-7: Kyoto
Day 8-9: Osaka
Day 10: Nara
Day 11: Himeiji + Kobe
Day 12: Kinosaki
Day 13: Tokyo (have to loop back because of air ticket)
Day 14: Tokyo (Fly off afternoon)

Same as you, I'm trying to figure out how to get from Lake Kawaguchi to Kyoto as it involves many transfers and waste lots of time.

I am quite tempted to go back Tokyo to take Nozomi Shinkansen actually haha. Around the same time and cost overal. And less hassle?

Thanks for the info.
I'm thinking of either doing Hakone or Kawaguchi but not both :)
Been to Hakone before but view of Mt Fuji blocked by fog so this time I'm trying Kawaguchi.

What kind of lodging you looking for? Maybe we can share info.

yes, seems the back to shinjuku route is good too. Just that a bit weird to travel backward and forward again, but that's the way it is.:)
