Will be travelling to Japan with my mum and I'm thinking of going on those one day tour from Club Tourism or Japanican. Has anyone tried any of their tours, any reviews?

I booked my Mount Fuji day tour from japanican. It's hassle-free but there isn't enough time to explore the area. I took the 1-Day Mt. Fuji & Hakone Tour (No Lunch) package.

Pickup was right from where I stay (Keio Plaza). The snow havent clear so the road leading to the 5th station was closed, we were took the highest point they could, it's just a stopover before driving down to Mount Fuji Visitor Center. There is only one pathetic cashier and it could be a long queue when there are many tourist so get someone to queue while browsing.

Then it's almost an hour drive to Lake Kawaguchiko for lunch. I din take the package with lunch and drop by a restaurant for lunch which cost 1900 YEN for a simple curry cutlet rice so it may be more hassle free to take their package with lunch for additional 2000 YEN. We will then drove to Lake Ashi for a 15 mins cruise to take the Hakone Komaga-take Ropeway which is a 7 mins ride up to Mount Komagatake. We couldn't see Mount Fuji throughout the journey or even the ride up till we reached the peak, the clouds clear for a good 10 mins before Mount Fuji is hidden again. Thereafter it's the ride down and the coach will stop at Odawara Station or Shinjuku Station.

Generally it's a touch and go journey, a lot of time is spent in the coach. I would love to spend more time at Mount Komagatake, take a walk to the shrine right at the peak of the mountain. One day is just not enough.

I'm interested to do the strawberry picking one offered by Club Tourism. The one offered by Japanican looks much better but they no longer offered it in May. Which makes me a little skeptical on whether there will still be sakura moss and strawberries nearer end may. I would love to do hakone but since hakone is package tgt with fuji and the strawberry picking one is already going to Fuji, I may be taking a shot at their nikko tours. Understand that all day tours are touch and go but their itinerary looks a little bit thin I would say. But since I'm travelling with my parents, no choice. think for them convenience is more important since they dont need to walk unnecessarily.

I would think taking a package tour all the way would be even better than get one in Japan. The hassle form the airport to the hotel could be already too much for them, if their physical level is not tip top.
