Good that they started it recently.and gaining popularity with locals/tourists/domestic business execs.

Had to mod from my Hokkaido and Tohoku boxvan rentals, 2 and 6 years ago. Was shocked to see half the public car park mpv/cars/cans, were overnight sleepers (dome modded) the last tinge in Hokkaido

Best part cheaper than compact car Y8000 rentals, from Y5400/day, complete with beddings, stove, camp chairs/table, GPS, Wi-Fi router, etc.
I heard preferential tolls too for van-styled models too ('commercial' purpose)

*Not for the atas, 'safe to sleep outside or nots', born in hdb travelers.
*suitable for budget/ scenic explorers.

Review after my September central/south Japan trip.

Have to take note there are height limits for carpark...

If driving at the countryside no problem... but if go to the city will have problem parking... most carpark that is inside the building got low height restriction...

My last trip was in a 10seater... can only park at outdoor carparks... but one good thing is most hotel will let you park at their main entrance if their carpark cannot park... so very convenient... go out of the hotel is your car liaoz... :p

I would have thought that parking your campervan in a hotel carpark be the least of your concern of all things...

Precisely my concerns: city parking and road tolls.
