Is it useful to use to travel around tokyo stations n kyoto??
Planning to get 21 days pass cos going there for 18 days. Or should I get 14 days?
And where can I get it in Singapore give us on the spot?

JR pass is mainly to cover the expensive trips on shinkansen and limited express train rides between cities, and is not worth it for travel within the city. hence u would not need a 21 days pass.

in fact, depending on how many days u wanna spend at each city, a 7-day pass may be sufficient.
e.g:
day 1 of JR pass: Tokyo -> Kyoto
day 2: kyoto
day 3: kyoto
day 4: kyoto
day 5: kyoto -> hiroshima
day 6: hiroshima
day 7: hiroshima -> tokyo
u dun need the pass for the other days within tokyo

As to whether the JR Pass is worth getting or not depends on your overall itinerary. JR Pass is expensive and is only worth getting if you are taking Shinkansen and Ltd Exp trains on most of the days within the JR Pass coverage period. If you are only taking regular trains within Tokyo itself, then railpass won't be worth getting.

If you plan to go Kyoto/Osaka region from Tokyo, then back to Tokyo again within 7 days, then just get a 7 days JR pass to cover the shinkansen journey from Tokyo to Kyoto or Shin-Osaka and then back to Tokyo again within 7 days period. Would be good if you can also squeeze Narita Express train and/or other long and expensive journeys within 7 days.

If 7 days is too rushed to visit Kansai region, then maybe get 14 days. But bear in mind that for Kyoto itself, transportation are mainly buses (cannot use JR pass) and non-JR subways (cannot use JR Pass).

JR Pass HAVE to be purchased before you go Japan within 3 months of your trip. How it works is that when u purchase it in Singapore, they will give you a railpass voucher, and you bring the voucher to Japan and go to a JR office to exchange for the actual railpass.

There is no tour agency here that will give u the pass straight away.
They don't have the pass with them.

What you will get is the JR pass's voucher to exchange at the control stations in Japan.

Not to worry, the stations where u can get ur JR pass have people who can speak English. Just be a little mindful and speak slower so they can catch what you are trying to ask.
