Between Asahikawa and Furano, which is more worthwhile to stay for 2 nights? This is for my last leg of the trip before heading back to Sapporo.

have you considered the onsen resorts at Asahidake ?

Asahikawa is built up city, hotels there will be similar to those in Sapporo such as business or chain hotels.

For the 2nd largest city in Hokkaido, it is rather sparsely populated.

For onsen, I am thinking of Nonokaze for 2-3 nights.

For outdoor activities with kids, I am still looking for an ideal spot. So far I have come across Tomamu or Niseko. Tomamu is nicer I think.

if you r going to stay in Sapporo hotels, I would skip staying in Asahikawa city hotels.

no harm checking out other onsen resorts.

If you plan 2N at Asahidake onsen resorts, you have 2 chances of visiting Asahidake on a clear day early in the morning. If weather on Asahidake is not good on Day1, go visit Furano (less weather dependent). Try again next day.

Going in June. Plan to go to Asahikawa zoo but other than this, I dont see much attraction around that area. How's Asahidake onsen compared to Nonokaze?

Great! I think I'll stick to this. Have you been to Tomamu? The activities there looks quite fun for kids but I'm not sure if outsiders are able to rent and play around the area such as horse riding, hot air balloon, goat farm etc

not been to Tomamu, passed by it a few times last trips, the twin towers r sort of a landmark ... heard it's popular with mainland tourists

shops in akiba doesnt open till 11am. may be better to switch shinjuku gyoen to morning.

day 7:
may be too packed if u are heading to yokohama.
osaka has cup noodle museum as well, so if not enuf time, can always leave till osaka.

I personally feel there is too much traveling and switching hotels.
A bit rush to do Hiroshima and miyajima as a day trip. Maybe stay another night in Matsumoto and visit kamikochi instead?

I checked out Kamikochi and it’s extremely beautiful. Imagine a picnic by the river (might be freezing though)

my itenary for osaka/shirakawa go/kyoto/kobe plan for 7d6n oct trip

day 1
land kix, collect takayama 5 day pass, drop bag hotel
kuromon market breakfast and lunch
lucky owl cafe, namba for crab dinner

day 2
shirakawa go via thunder bird express train and bus at kanazawa using the t.pass

day 3
nissin cup museum (choose this over osaka castle) + umeda sky view in the evening

day 4
USJ, will buy 1 express pass for the big fan and the others will just normal pass. isit advisble to buy vip pass for all just to enter earlier?

day 5
kyoto arashimaya bamboo forest + sagano train ride with dinner at izuju sushi

day 6
kobe steak at misono + herb garden
then back osaka for final souvenir shopping

day 7
fly home, morning flight

open to all opinions

I assume u have been to Kyoto and osaka, since u only touching a few attractions?

Tot it is quite rush to head all the way to Shirakawago as a day trip from osaka and the cost is so much just for that trip up.

Day 3 seems a bit too relaxed, probably can insert another attraction
