hyperdia provide more infor on the fare diff
HyperDia | SearchResult

4130Yen is reserved seat cost, if you take non reserved, the tix will cost 3610 one way only.

Since your journey is quite expensive, you might as well get the Kanto Area pass at 8300 for 3 days for unlimited JR rides(within Kanto area only) Check this out:
http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/kantoareapass/

The 2 days in Tokyo u can use the pass for all your Yamanote rides or whatver that runs by JR. Sure get back your 8300 with saving.

there are metro passes for travel within Tokyo:
Transportation in Tokyo

but personally, I prefer not to get passes for travelling within Tokyo. coz u will be restricting urself to only the metro line, and a lot of places are actually more convenient to get to using JR Yamanote line. also, the savings are not a lot, unless u are visiting many places in a day.
so I rather have the freedom to take whatever line I want, and have the flexibility to change my itinerary without worrying about which line to take

skytree is in asakusa area, so u may want to put these 2 places in the same day.

u can consider shopping around in Tokyo station after imperial palace as it is nearby. Ginza is also walkable from Tokyo station.

another place to shop will be Ameyoko at Ueno. and maybe kappabashi for food/kitchen related stuff

since u are heading to kawaguchi, y not stay a night so it is not so rush. then u can visit Gotemba premier outlet as well

looks good. day 4 maybe a bit rush, but that depends on how much time u want to spend at odaiba.

To have a feel of how the Japanese love their Emperor, visit the Palace on 2 Jan.
Visiting Japan during New Year

that is a good point!
the inner ground of the imperial palace is only open to public twice a year, and 2nd jan is one of them. so it is a great opportunity.

the other thing u can do on 2 jan is to go queue for fukubukuro (lucky bags) at departmental stores and shops.

thanks bro. we planning to go sensoji temple on 1st Jan and not skytree cause most shops will not be opened i think?

as for Ginza, we went before last year and is mostly luxury goods which she doesn't like.

we will be staying 1 night at kawaguchi hotel konanso.

touched down 7.45am take keisei skyliner to nippori then to shinjuku and take highway bus up to kawaguchiko check in hotel and visit kachi kachi ropeway and enjoy the view. next day check out and move to shinjuku

what does Ameyoko have? Can Nakano Broadway & First Avenue Tokyo occupy fullday? or halfday will do?

Ameyoko is all auntie stuffs, eg food stuffs, seafood, dried food, etc etc. If you are around ueno station can just make a short hop to it. If you don't like the place, you can easily make your next stop from Ueno stn, so no harm dropping by.

Hi evilerniex, we have decided to take a midnight flight from sg to tokyo. So we will be reaching Tokyo at around 930am. We will proceed to to do a pre-check in at Disneyland Resort first.

Is it advisable that we go to asakusa after we are done with the pre-check in? If not which day should i place asakusa in? As i will like to spend more time at Odaiba. :)
