Hi guys, grateful for any comments on below itinerary. There will be 2 adults and 2 kids (4 and 7 years old) travelling. We will be staying in osaka throughout and using it as a base.
17 Oct Sat - 5pm Reach Kansai, 7pm Check in apartment at Namba, dinner nearby
18 Oct Sun - Ebisubashi-suji, Shinsaibashi-suji eating and shopping, Dotonbori river cruise in evening.
19 Oct Mon - Southern Kyoto & Nara
Brunch at Nishiki Market , walk torii gates at Fushimi Inari, Nara Kofukuji and deer, Todaiji
Head back to Osaka
20 Oct Tues - Kuromon Ichiba brunch, Osaka Castle picnic
21 Oct Wed - Eastern Kyoto
Kiyomizudera, Sannenzaka stairs, Ninenzaka steps, Higashimaya district, Nene-no-michi st, Kodaiji Temple, Gion, Shirakawa area
22 Oct Thur - North & Western Kyoto
Arashiyama, Togetsukyo Bridge, Sagano Bamboo Grove, Sagano Scenic Railway, Tenryuji Temple, Nijo Castle? - Kinkakuji pavilion, Hodu Gawa Kudari River Cruise?
(This day seems quite packed huh..not sure what to skip..husband likes scenic places..maybe leave out nijo castle?)
[yes, i think too packed. i suggestion taking out nijo castle and kinkakuji and putting them on 19 oct. then visit nara on 23 oct instead]
23 Oct Fri (undecided yet, options below, any comments/recommendations?)
1) Toei Movie Village? 2) Umeda Sky Building + Floating Garden Observatory? 3) Open-Air Museum of Old Japanese Farm Houses? 4) Museum of Living and Housing? 5) Tampozan Ferris Wheel? 6) Hanahaku Expo Park? 7) Mino waterfall
[some of these can be visited in the evening/night on other days, especially 20 oct which looks quite empty]

(Anything we can do in between? Will have to deposit luggage at some locker nearby though..)

Another question: Would you recommend any pass to get, since I will be travelling between Osaka and Kyoto for 3 days? I am confused by the many passes available..not sure whether it makes sense to get a pass or just use the ICOCA card.
[u can get a bus pass for getting around kyoto. other than that, u dun need any pass to get around]
