I suppose you are getting 7 days All Kyushu pass @ 20,000 yen as I noticed you are staying more than a day in Nagasaki.

For 14-Oct, you may want to consider a daytrip to Sasebo https://www.japan-guide.com/ad/sasebo-seawind/

Have you confirmed your accommodation already? You don't need to stay overnight at Kagoshima on 12-Oct if you are just visiting Sengan-en Garden. You can make your way to Nagasaki after visiting Sengan-en Garden. You can visit Mt. Inasayama for the night view and end your day in Nagasaki. https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e4412.html

Personally, I did not visit Gunkanjima Digital Museum, but I went for the boat tour to Gunkanjima. I strongly recommend the boat tour.

Doesn't matter.

It's like coming to Singapore for a holiday and then do a one day trip to KL and Genting.

I'll say, just stay in Tokyo and the surrounding areas. Just for a day, don't waste time and money going to Kansai.

Personally in such a short trip I won't go Kyoto and Osaka. Even a week there isn't enough. There's a lot of day trips from Tokyo at lower cost.

Thanks guys for your inputs, guess i will just roam in Tokyo since the trips isn't that long. In this case, Suica card for roaming in Tokyo? JR pass would not be really relevant in this case?

TIA

Ya don't need Jr pass. Depending on your itinerary can consider regional pass.

dun think the train stop running is due to holidays. usually is due to heavy snow or ppl jump track.
heavy snow unlikely for tokyo. but if u are really concerned, just go airport earlier, and also research on what bus to take as a backup plan in case really no train

Traveling to Japan from 3 - 15 Nov with family (2 adults and 2 kids aged 5 and 2).
Flying in and out Tokyo and thinking to visit another city.
Can anyone suggest / share your itinerary? Also, what is the best option for staying connected to the internet while in Japan -- roaming, buying a local SIM, or renting a mobile wifi device?
Thank you everyone!

There's lots of day or overnight trips from Tokyo.

Since only you and partner roaming is sufficient. Still have access when both of you are not together eg one look after kids while the other can do other stuff.
