Hi all. I just came back from a long trip in Japan and used the 1gb e-connect SIM card. It worked absolutely fine with my Singapore A1530 unlocked 5s on iOS7.1. As it's a b-mobile SIM it had good docomo coverage.
Pros:
- 30 days for 1gb (normal b-mobile visitor sim is 14 days)
- all english instructions, very simple, nothing to download
- delivered to my hotel and was waiting for me at check-in
- can be recharged/extended if needed (but my 1gb ran out only a couple of days before leaving, so just using starhub roam easy worked out cheaper)
Cons:
- more expensive (JPY4100)
- no immediate customer service to check data usage (but when you put it in the iphone settings-mobile-data usage resets so you know where you are)
- 3G not LTE
Also, if you're staying in business hotels, many don't have wifi so you might want to think about taking a travel router (e.g asus WL-330NUL)
