need advices to clear some doubts here.

Questions:
1) is buying prepaid card in Malaysia cheaper than subscribing to M1 data passport? (if i were to go there one day, and two weeks later another 3 days)
Data passport costs overall $12.

2) prepaid card eg. 7day 15Gb, does it mean on the 8th day the card cant be used at all? Is there another recommendation of malaysia telco that have longer period and can add in credit($$) to buy data?

Malaysia prepaid has 3 phase. Active, inactive and terminate
For every 1rm top up, you get to extend your validity by 1 day. How many days of validity depends on how much you top up.

Usually, the top up( or sometimes known as reload ticket, is usually at least 5rm denomination 10rm and etc. I have seen 30rm too)

Hence, if you wish to purchase Malaysia prepaid, when buying ask them this one valid for how many days.

Next, if you do not top up on the day if expiry, it will move into inactive phase. Inactive, you can only receive SMS. Cannot use data or call. This inactive phase depends on which Telco's prepaid you get. For me, hotlink is 50 days. For Digi is 75 if I'm not wrong. During this phase, I'd you top up with a reload ticket, it will go back to active phase and it will continue to operate as normal, can answer call and use buy data etc

However if you failed to reload before termination. Then your number will be gone...

For your q1, is still cheaper to get a Malaysia prepaid. For hotlink, 1 day 1gb is only 3rm. However if you are still not familiar and prefer simplicity, pay the more expensive option of using data passport over getting a Malaysia prepaid

Using the above. Every month I just subscribe 500MB data, going in 1-2 times per month. 28 months validity which can be extended. Paid RM60 for 10GB data and think 300 mins calls.

Look in Carousell to buy.

Note your billing cycle when using data passport; charges are based on each billing cycle hence if your billing date falls between the two trips, you have to activate the data passport twice :(

I am holding a xoxone card as well, long validity and one is able to control usage for each trip. Good deal if you ask me

Recommended to get XOX, or RedOne if you don't require MY number. For XOX look for Phelio in this forum. Nice chap.
