they say PAP MP in it for the money ..and they dont turn up for parliament sessions.. and they are fully engaged in their full-time jobs outside while MP is a part-time job.

I believe more nad more singaporeans have woken up to realised being an MP is a higher calling to serve the people FULL-TIME and if it means taking a paycut, so be it. If you do not want to join because there is a pay-cut. Obviously, you have not reached the Maslow Hierachy of Self-actualisation and it's best you continue with your FULL TIME job. DOn't contest.

KNNB, if people thinks that Ben Pwee is the one who try to destroy the Chiams as opportunists, then the more Jeanette needs to be voted in as a legitimate SPP's successor. Aunty Lina is retiring from politics after this GE. Aunty said before that due to advanced age, this would be her last contest.

Even though I still hope that both Jeanette & Ben Pwee's team to be elected, so that it can pave way for eventual SPP & DPP being merged as a bigger party. It is depressing that despite Chiam's legacy (Less Chiam past mistakes by creating 3 CF in oppo held ward and handing the justification of GRCs to PAP - That is a own goal no matter what), his party can only field 7 people + Jeannette who joined in SPP at almost close to the surprise GE.

8 people, or rather 6 from SPP (When excluding former DPP side) is about half less than what SDP or RP is contesting and it is on par with SDA and slightly better than GMS's newest political party aka PPP.


If SPP & DPP merged, certainly it is entirely possible for parties like PPP (Since Goh Meng Seng is Jeannette's ex-team mate) or even SDA to join as a one big family.


If this materializes, then I guess only RP is left on the cold, because KJ is the reason for Jeannette to resign.

As for SingFirst, they can either take their own path or join back SDP. But just make sure that TJS don't contest in PE anymore, otherwise SingFirst can close shop also.
