Hi sorry for noob question, can the universal fit Roxanne be custom reshelled later? The price for it in Japan is quite decent...

No.. if you want to reshell via JH. You may be able to reshell via 3rd party companies but I don't think they can retain the variable bass knobs

Someone posted in HeadFi that he approached JH Audio to reshell his universal Roxanne to custom and they flatly told him "No", so the best option is maybe approach 3rd party ciem makers

I didnt know E1 business do till so big, now becomes A&K distributor liao.
Perhaps you got insider news :s34:

Don't know if they are technically 'distributors', but they certainly sell A&K products, and they're only going to be carrying the universals- they told me for customs check with JHA directly, or JAben.

Distributors and dealers are different things to begin with.

I believe Jaben is doing the customs side of the JH business while the universals are sold under SKM

Wow! Both Layla and Angie customs are up on JHaudio website. Angie has an option for both kevlar and carbon fiber body. Sweet.

Good thing is basic Layla custom is not that much more expensive than the Astell and Kern ones.. only difference is the faceplate and carbon fiber body..

Anyone knows if there is a difference in sound between carbon fiber and just plain acrylic?

Hmm... if there is no difference in sound. why have the carbon fiber body then? for Chioh look is it? . I was just thinking about the US$500 more for the full carbon fiber body.. the carbon fiber layer seems to be sandwich in between acrilyc anyway, or is it full carbon fiber.. ...might not be worth it.. maybe just be done with a carbon fiber faceplate for US$50 on each side.... and black acrylic all the way.

Anyone compared acrylic roxxane vs carbon fiber roxxanne?
lol.. I know this sounds silly.. US$500 is a lot of mulah...

Lol... U got a point there...

Put it this way,
You pay more for bragging right =:p

Majority of us here that bought CF Roxanne bought it during 2013 Black Friday sale when the difference in price was still US$200.
At US$500 diff, save you money for something else.

Thinking of getting the universal Roxannes in Japan, price before tax is 158,500 yen at BIC Camera. There's also a 6% discount if a foreign visa is used. Is this a good deal? Need some advice thanks!

Just placed my order for jh 5.
Can any bro here enlighten me why is jh audio still using 2 pin connectors?

I thought the industry has moved on to the snap on type that allows rotation?
