JiuZhaiGou ** Vs CTC

Hi dear members of HWZ, I need your professional advice and experience.

Im traveling during CNY 8D 7N Jiuzhaigou/Emei/Le Shan with my wife, ,my mother and also my mother in law.

I've got 2 questions that need to be advised before I head to place my deposit.

MY choice of agency are now Chan Brothers or CTC

Chan Brother offer: 5* or equivalent hotels, Silkair flights and itinerary as given on the pamphlet. Cost: $1413 all in
CTC: Offer exactly the same except the counter lady seemed a bit not confident of the hotel stay standard when I asked about is it all at least 4*or 5*. Cost: $1234 all in

Question 1: Which would you choose? I don't mind paying more for the same thing so long my family could enjoy this trip. Any experience to share with any of this agency?

Question 2: During February CNY, anyone went there before? Any snow or What sort of climate am I going to face?

The 5 star hotel is 九寨沟 is like 3 star in Singapore. And please don't go during Chinese new year.

February will be winter....

Dont recommend going during CNY as it is Feb and will be super cold there.
Not easy to stay outdoors for long plus older folks dont really like extreme cold.

The shops and restaurants will all be closed because the workers will have gone home for CNY.

China is one of the worst places to visit during CNY.
Everything is shut down.

Go somewhere where they dont celebrate CNY such as Japan/Thailand etc

I think JZG airport is also closed during winter so there will be very long travel on the roads.
Mountain roads in winter is very dangerous too.

It will be open.. Most tourist area will be open, just that it will be very pack like golden week. I suggest you travel one week after new year.

As others have mentioned, avoid CNY. Winter is very cold... I was there about 5 years ago in end of Nov. Starting to snow and it is extremely cold but very beautiful. Planning to go again.

I think JZG airport is also closed during winter so there will be very long travel on the roads.

I was there end of Nov, beginning of winter but the airport was opened. Landed in airport and took a taxi to my hotel.
