Wetting method only works if it dries up. These few night humidity is terrible, where I have wash my shoes for every run. The saturate singlet refuse to dry, weight down and trap more heat instead as the gaps are blocked. Lucky the ventilated hole part doesn't hold the sweat.
Morning time still ok, may dry up because of the sun.
Yes......wetting with plain water (eg from your water bottle / soft flask) is for hot drier afternoons. Esp for cycling.
The cooling is crazy good, actually if you touch the material it feels cold, probably around 22-23 deg C or so, slightly above the dew point temperature during that afternoon. So that 22-23 deg C can really wick a lot of heat from your body.
For running, if early morning or nights, you'd need iced slushies / cubes or at least iced water. How to manage that so that this "aid station" can be applied every 10-15 mins, you need to plan your route around it liao.
For me no issue for my area and also cycling. If yours is stadium track then no biggie also, every 400m also can pour lagi best.

You just need like many paper cups and like 2 x 1.5L iced slushie.
This is how i have been attempting my "TTs" since Sep 2023, after i overheated while attempting a 10K TT at the 7-8k mark at around 7pm.
I guess some might see this as "cheating", but i just do it for fun lah. Im not that type of pax who feel that real men shd go gun in 40 deg C heat index temps then only can say "i am a real runner". heh...
Actually every single damn working day i also run during day time, once at 12 noon and once at 1.30pm. 2 times 1.1km.
230 working days x 2.2 = 506km. So bloody hot that if it's an esp warm day, i take a quick shower at home basically quick soaping the armpits and top of the back and chest area before returning office coz i'd smell. If it rains then ok, cooler. Many days when i reach office, i just head straight into the server room to cool down in front of the chiller. (so far never fell sick)
Anyway i'd hereby wanna thank my coy and boss that i can wear casual, so dry fit and running shoes (now is Puma Deviate Nitro 2) all the way.
