heavy showers now, was about to head out

hopefully it ends soon so can have a cooling sunday run

just came back from weekly Sunday cardio 2 hour run + pull ups + push ups, cooling weather

today very happy my pull ups have improved tremendously over the past months

5 reps x 2 -> 10 reps x 2 -> 15 reps x 2 -> 20 reps x 2 (today)

maybe not an achievement for some but happy to keep improving

Anyone ever had knee pain when running?

My 1st 2 week I didnt have any pain, but this week whenever i run my knees will feel abit painful.
There's no pain when im not running though.

Decided to rest for a few days and see if it goes away.

While you are giving running a break, just google some knees strengthening exercises that target on quad, calves and glute.

After 4 weeks routine

Midweek 15km
Weekend 10km

Now i almost dont feel sore at all

Avg heart rate is also improving

What is next? Any advice? I plan to switch to 2*15km Monday Thursday when work permits me to do so

What kind of pace ?

If slow pace, just keep feet low to the ground and make smaller steps.

What are your goals ?

For heart health and leisure, you don't need to run at high mileage.

Personally, I find 3x 10 km weekly is my sweet spot.

Goal is to reach ideal weight 65kg without changing my diet or eating habit. Now at 73-74.

Recent lowest ever was year ago around 68 when i cycled 100km+ weekly

Once i reach my 65kg. I will switch to HM weekly per week and use the available time to do some weight lifting to maintain upper body muscle (iam old haha)

If I were you, I will approach both ways.

Lower calories. Focus on quality foods.

Increase intensity gradually.

Personal experience

Take a look at chi running and run barefoot

Chi running to practice form. Barefoot to practice mid strike landing

I literally run barefoot when running on familiar route (pcn) and use decathlon aquashoes to run on unfamiliar route

Buy subea 100 not 120

It's not the destination, but the whole journey. And that includes the mindset.

Coz once you get that PB of your goal, then you stop.....that's it. End liao. Then what? That should not be the focus. And that also spells disaster in terms of consistency.

I mean if the sport is potentially toxic (eg bodybuilding vid above) then yeah.....maybe need to stop at some point, but for many others that shd not be the way.
Exactly, like you need to see running as a process and not just chasing goals.

I made a lot of good experiences running. I cherish all the little moments. Still have my medals with me, look at them from time to time.
That pretty much solidify Jakob as a legend. He competed with the other 5k medallists, everyone fast there excluding Cheptegei and Kiplimo.

I feel bad for Aregawi for getting 2nd again, but at least broke his PB and NR. Jakob will be very dangerous when he goes up to 10k.

Aregawi/Kejelcha could've medalled in the 5k olympics, especially Aregawi.

Calories in if more than Calories out will not lose weight.

U need to lose another 8 to 9kg which is a lot

If u don't want to change your eating habits and diet . Probably need to run at least 15km.

I used to weight 62 kg and drop to 59kg after I ran a lot without change of diet . Every run minimum 15km to 21km. I checked the calories burn in 900 to 1200 only.

Now my weight 54 to 55kg after i changed my diet, cut down 90% of my drink to plain water and consume less red meat . Still doing the same amount of run . Range from 5km to 21km

I dropped from 62kg to 56kg with no diet change but running 50-55km/week for 6 months.

At 56kg, I am worried now since my plan is to increase to 60km/week next year. Now, monitoring my weight so I eat enough to maintain weight and prevent dropping further.

Some weeks I only run 20km . The highest ever I run in a week is 90km in 2019 . I guess that was the time I lost weight from 62kg to 59kg. Now my weight is about 54kg after diet change. My height 1.69m . Already strongly advise by doctor not to lose any more weight liao
