Wow

I am not sure if any of you noticed in the first vid. The 82 yr old elderly's cognitive and mental fitness also improved. Whether this is due to the strength training improving mental fitness as well or not, not sure.
But the improvement is quite marked.

Oh @Kuudere @Skyrillex That time I was saying run <9min 2.4km and get 100 pts can get badge from FCC. Yesterday ran sub 9 at maju then asked for the badge. They said they no longer give badges for either 100 pointer or sub 9 2.4. Ah well
Never gotten it before actually, all I want is my $500. I have 3 more tries left before MR possibly.

Also, my reservist unit knows I am the lead runner, I think that's good enough already.

this badge can wear on No. 4 ah ?

Not looking to buy new shoes for SCSM, coz already bought 361 Flame 4, and VF 3 from last year. My exception is only I can get the vapor fly for less than $150. A luck that was repeated for the past two years and hopefully this year.
High chance you will get it since VF4 seems pretty unpopular at the moment haha

I learnt something today.......those walking aids are not good and further exacerbates the root cause. Same as wheelchairs, is "wait to die" nia.

I've worked with seniors doing physical/physio therapy for over 30 years. The info in this videos is great BUT I always recommend against those upright platform walkers your mum was using. They allow you to use the muscles that hold you upright even less and cause you to use the muscles that push downward, exacerbating the problem.

I'm a lot younger than your parents but also took up strength training in my late 50s with starting strength. Knee pain I'd had for over a decade completely resolved. Never thought I could get into a squat and now can do it loaded. amazing. It's really an excellent programme and the coaches are extremely well traine

I am 81 y.o. F 5’2” 148 lbs. I communicated with Chris after watching your parents . Chris referred me to his friend in my area for in person Strength Training. I started April 14 and dead lifting 70 lbs on May 23. I am more than 60% stronger after 6 weeks of training. I appreciate sharing your parents progress. Thank you.

I am 66 and started strength training at home 12 months ago. When I started I could do 8 press ups and now I can do 35 without stopping. I can do 4 reps of 35 press ups with a 10 min rest between each rep. The other day I moved two bags weighing 50kg whilst walking 30 feet. I also do 40 deep squats with an 8 kg kettle bell and can hold a plank for 5 minutes, The transformation is incredible.

I love this seeing your dad's smile is uplifting and your mum sitting up from lying is wonderful. My mum is 92.5 and incredible. She walks upright unaided, only recently stopped driving (my brother is a driving instructor & trains driving instructors) when advised it was time. She lives independently, cooks & does her grocery shopping online. She was a dancer - ballet & ballroom before getting married and having 5 children. She trained to be a ballet teacher when I was 7 (I'm number 4 of 5) because I danced everywhere all the time. The most amazing thing about my mum is that at her age she still teaches movement to music for seniors. She calls her class S.O.S (Seniors Over Sixty) She has a great sense of humour. One other thing I've just remembered is that in her 70's she laid a small patio in the back garden.. ALL BY HERSELF! She's a formidable Scottish woman. Hats off to you mum.

dunno if it will be much cheaper in JPN boh
Of coZ. All running shoes are cheaper in japan .Megablast is retailed at 27500 yens which is close to SG$240 based on current exchange rate . After tax deduction if u r able to . It will be not more than sg$220.

I am going to jp in mid Oct. Hopefully can get it there..

Are all your running shoes ascis? Which model will u likely buy when you next go Japan? Last week I went to a Singapore outlet but eventually bought dynablast due to a few reasons instead of the originally intended novablast.

The only ASICS I owned is superblast now. already hit 600km. Getting Megablast if available when I travel to japan in coming oct. But I also don't mind getting superblast 2 or metaspeed edge Tokyo.
