how often should one do a Z2 running per week to build the aerobic base?
45mins sessions twice a week is too little?
Are you solely only doing Z2 running or a mix of intensity? If its solely Z2, for the body to get sufficient stress we are looking at a training frequency of at least 3X a week that's nicely spread out.

If you are just doing for health and have other life commitments that limit your time for exercises, I would just follow HPB guide lines. minimum 150 min per week, spread out as equally as possible per day. If you have been doing this for a while and your body has adapted to running more than 150 mins/week. Consider to add on strength training, especially for functional purposes for more holistic health care. Maybe every once a week, or two weeks replace one of the Z2 run with a 20 minute threshold run to mitigate VO2max decay due to aging.

If you got running goals, then need more time for commitment and experiment on different training philosophy of running, e,g MAF, polarised training (80/20), Pyrimidal training, Norwegian method(for the serious ones with no work commitment LOL) or mix them all up

Maybe she's the type who'd attempt SCSM FM on a whimp or with minimal training or something. (last time got ex-colleagues who were like that, challenge / peer pressure)

Just slowly ramp up from twice a week 30 mins then add 10% duration each week.....my wife/I since covid P2 doing it and ramped to near daily basis from Q3 2020 to Q3 2022 with walking. Daily ranges from 30 mins to just over an hour (not that often tho)....but i suspect those 1hr ones more like zone 1, slower paces. But there were times in which i did SIT also, so.......

Then Q3 2022 i attempted to start running, 5.30-6.00 pace zone 2 for around 3km no issue liao, ie can pass IPPT. (but of coz i am middle aged so no IPPT).

So technically can train to pass IPPT (last time 5.12 pace passing for me) via just walking? :ROFLMAO:

IPPT 2.4 kinda distances and Z2 aerobic base shd be easy enough for vast majority of the folks.
Generally just go on duration and intensity (eg by effort level and HR), will be fine.

I successfully brought down my weight from 89.6 to 82.6. After jogging 1-2 times a week 4.2km each time. For the past 3 months

Congrats, a large % of that shd be from fats then.....not just glycogen depletion (and the water weight associated with that coz 1g of glycogen binds with around 3g of water).

Hi Guys who bought PB3 or Plaid, may I ask about sizing? Do you buy true to size?

I'm a US10E.

But over the years, figured out US10.5D works well most of the time.

Latest shoes i ran with:

Endorphin Speed 3 - US10.5D
Novablast 2/3/3TR - US10.5D
Fuelcell Rebel 2/3 - US11D

Should I stick with US10.5D? China size 44.5?

Gamxia very much. 🙏

I just checked my Plaid. Yeah i wear EU44 for majority of my other shoes, my PLAID is EU44.

QD official Tmall is using EU sizing.

Ya observing the official store now.

Divided between them to be honest. Looking for soft cushioning and more energy return.

Any idea which is better in this regard?

Just buy both if job is ok and you will be using it often. :ROFLMAO:

Im crossing training a fair bit into cycling......so running mileage not that high. Next yr might not be good for me at work...... If not i would also get a pair of PB 3.0

I do cycling most of the time now is coz it relaxes me and keeps the pressure at bay.

I cycled with my kid for 5 hrs this morning, started 6am and ended 11am. Good weather.

YouTuber for views.. not clicking, coz their opinion are shallow for not making an attempt to understand the subject matter.

Thanks!

Would like both but too many shoes.

Still have a Rebel 2 which can probably last another 150km. Also another Novablast 2 that will pass to my bro. :s13:

I looking to buy a pair of running shoes. Now currently wearing adizero SL and looking at adios pro 3.

seeking advice worth to pay $339 for pro 3. I looking at mostly black running shoes only. Preferably adidas or Nike only.

or should I consider streakfly ?

These supershoes like adios pro 3 are quite harsh on the feet and leg, especially for new runners. The rebound energy and instability from it's excessive compression and stack height are risk for injuries. If not racing or trying to beat personal PB, safer to use non plated shoes.
If really want to buy, have to slowly rotate in the shoes to acclimatize your legs to adapt. Rotate means you have other non plated shoes to alternate between the shoes.

7.7km

1st half: 21.24
2nd half: 43.13

Zone 2: 5.37 min/km

Didn't get any stitch, chest felt slightly tight in the middle but the feeling disappeared later on

can you let us know the following to let us advise you more appropriately
1) what kind of pace are you running usually?
2) fore-foot, mid-foot or rear-foot striker?
3) what other running shoes do you have that you are wearing for runs?
4) how often do you run and what is/are the distance(s)?
5) what is/are your objective(s) to run?
6) any previous injuries that has implications to your running (during and after)?
