For Japan lovers
Do you still do intense exercise like HIIT or join marathon? I trying to do more jogging and swimming to lower blood pressure.I also borderline HBP. Some times under 135/85 adn sometime above 140/90.
Polyclinic doctor is concern. Next visit, I have to give them my daily BP measurements at home. If the doc not happy may introduce HBP meds.
agree.. everyone has different objectivesActually depends on individual needs and wants leh.
Honestly speaking, zone 2 running is not easy for beginners. Hard to maintain. Indeed it is easier to maintain zone 3
That's how I started. Run by feel. Definitely for gain. Important to be is to run, not walk in zone 2. Specificity is very much in play to get running performance gain.agree.. everyone has different objectives
that being said i am a firm believer of zone 2 running if you are serious about it. But it take a lot of time and patience.
for beginners... just got out and run... no need care pace, zone or distance. just enjoy it.
cos most beginners really don't have z2 to begin with. after you can run 30mins without wanting to call ambulance then look at if z2 and or MAF are for you. if not just enjoy your run
Yes, still rotates interval, threshold, tabata, two session a week. One long run. Joined SCSM FM every year since covid ended.Do you still do intense exercise like HIIT or join marathon? I trying to do more jogging and swimming to lower blood pressure.
i was in this borderline HBP (140+ systolic was common) last year, which i had to input daily BP into an app which doctor can monitor.I also borderline HBP. Some times under 135/85 adn sometime above 140/90.

am ok now, main difference was my consumption of 100% coconut water increased. You may want to try and see if it helps.

You are a serious runner, >60km a week. Sure got benefit from the volume gained from zone 2.Zone 2 running are for people that are looking to improve their timing if you ask me.
I learnt it the hard way last time. Every session also run hard and that's when I realised I always kena injury. Idea of zone 1/2 aka easy run is really to keep your legs fresh for those harder runs.
Interesting, why cocnut wate can help? Same question as Glassdoor, don't drink anything else?i was in this borderline HBP (140+ systolic was common) last year, which i had to input daily BP into an app which doctor can monitor.

i mean 100% natural coconut water. I do drink other stuffs, like plain water, coffee.when u say 100% coconut water... you don't mean you ONLY drink coconut water and nothing else right?
i drink 200-300ml after a run as a replacement for isotonic drink but not more than 500ml.. it has slight diarrhea effect on me, doctor say probably due to the high potassiumi mean 100% natural coconut water. I do drink other stuffs, like plain water, coffee.
100% natural coconut water contains high potassium content, which helps to regulate blood pressure, thus reducing the risk of stroke. It contains antioxidants, including cytokinins, that help neutralize harmful free radicals and reduce oxidative stress in the body, promoting overall health.
Waiting for Jasper to come out with his vid
Something like running 12 rolling hills marathons.
Any running shoe for beginners to recommend? Maybe not more than 100. Thanks
