It's an interesting thing to note that for (endurance) cycling, breaks are taken in much higher number of times and duration than for running.
Fitness still go up over time even if it does not touch amateur elite levels....even if such super unstructured training doesnt seem to be effective.

But damn time wasting for the effort you put in, of coz...... 🤣 But i think over time, it still counts.
As a "hobby", still worth it i guess. Better than going to shopping malls + get fat etc.

Exactly, I am trying to do a new structured training plan, Norwegian single method. Once I go back later, will plot a google sheets then share over here. Basically, targeting 15-16k to 30k pace mostly. Moderate intensity, but can do 3 workouts each week, short rest (60s). A lot of people improve their 5k times off this.

Note, this is not the GI tolerance level or intestinal absorption rate.

In today's training video leading up to the Chicago Marathon, I head down to London to take a Exogenous Carbohydrate Oxidation test. This protocol can calculate how many carbohydrates are optimal for your own personalised fuelling strategy. As runners, we appear to have been left behind a little when it comes to fuelling (in comparison to say triathletes or professional cyclists) so I hope this video can be helpful and provide some insights ahead of say your next marathon.

NSM training >> Mostly targets 15k, 21.1k, 30k training pace. Moderate pace, rest interval is 60s for workouts.

So, after a training block, run 5k TT and then update the training pace if hit PB.

Very interesting method of training but can see why it would guarantee results. All the best
